Democracy on Trial: Adam Kinzinger (interview) | FRONTLINE

Adam Kinzinger was a U.S. representative from Illinois from 2011 until 2023 and was one of two Republicans to serve on the Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol. Prior to his election to Congress, Kinzinger served in the Air Force and continues to serve as a pilot in the Air National Guard. He is the author of “Renegade: Defending Democracy and Liberty in Our Divided Country.”

He was an F-16 fighter pilot. Those things have one engine, and limited backup power for flight controls and electricity. Sitting in one is like a bathtub; there's not a lot of room to stretch out or take a piss. Adam was used to pressure and discomfort. Ejecting from one of those is similar to bailing off a motorcycle that's going 40 mph, or being thrown off a galloping horse; but with the added risk of cavitating your eyeballs and sinuses with air rushing at 300+ mph. He has demonstrable courage and integrity. I would be proud to say I crewed his jet; I'm almost certain I did not. Liz Cheney evokes similar feelings of respect and inspiration / admiration. Donald Trump is pathetic in comparison. I would readily walk past him to buy street tacos from an immigrant vendor serving out of the back of their unregistered van.

"Go to the capital and fight like hell" This what he told his mob of MAGAs..The reason he waited so long to do anything is he wanted to see if his mob would be successful in stopping the election certification. Maybe by hanging Mike Pence?? His crazy response to the election results are the epitome of his lack of concern for our democracy. He lost 60 court cases trying to prove fraud. Some of the presiding judges were appointed by Orange himself. He spreads unproven conspiracy theories and people believe them. It must be mass hypnosis that convinces people that this narcissistic playground bully is the right man for the job of president.
