I was born and raised in the Soviet Union. My parents had an average soviet income. Nothing special. But I had a lucky childhood, good high school and free of charge university education of which many americans could not even dream. When I hear modern american polititions talking about "Evil Soviet Russia" and "Danger of Communism and Socialism", I realize that these stupids never lived in a society where money and profit were not so important. And yes, you need to a big extent a planned economy, because otherwise it would be a greedy chaos. Many europeen countries nowdays are like "Soviet Union" of my childhood with all their modern social systems. For example UK National Health Service of which americans can't even dream. Its free of charge. Or almost free high education in Germany. And I never needed a car, cause in my big city in Soviet Union we had a perfect and cheap public transport and subway. So neither I nor my parents "suffered" because we couldn't buy a car. But we had a three-room apartment that the state gave us forever free of charge. If we improved a little bit the economic system of the Soviet Union and if there wouldn't be a cold war, it would be a way better system than a modern day USA mad house.

Another great example is the unity and cohesiveness of America during WWII. The idea of a common purpose strengthened the whole societal "mechanism" in pursuit of a noble goal. Today we are the the diametric opposite of that era. "Greed is good and every man for himself". The inequities and divisions that resulted from that paradigm shift is everywhere to be seen in contemporary America. Unless we can retrieve a new-found reverence for the common good, the general welfare of the nation, America will continue on its national downward spiral.
@judithalltop3953

The Values of greed and selfishness are instilled into the American population via commercial advertising on TV, radio, the Internet; through our educational systems; and in every way it's drilled into us not to care about our neighbors, just get what we need, the hell with everyone else. This and the fiction that everyone has a chance to BECOME a member of the ruling 1% if they just work hard enough keeps approximately 99% of our working age population struggling quietly to get rich That is HOW our wealthy ruling class maintains control over their slaves.

I think the major challenges investors face may range from controlling impulsiveness to the frail of compulsion. Most newbies and would-be investors often undermine and most often neglect the importance of technical analysis with regards to investing. Technical analysis overly predicts the movement of asset prices regardless of what is happening in the wider or broader market. Essentially, the process involves studying the paths of a particular asset movement in the past so as to establish a sustainable pattern that can be used to predict future movements or better still get an investment advisor who'd guide you and help you manage your portfolio just like my boss back then, He was working with an IA Fxbrusher and i would bet he still does. I can boldly recommend her because i've witnessed her performance first hand. She's the real deal.

The moral/ethical aspects of our current socio-economic paradigm is an issue that seems to be ignored or denied by our "deciders" in business and government. "A chain is only as strong as its weakest link". The disregard for a huge swath of Americans only diminishes the viability of the paradigm itself, and exposes the duplicity of its overlords. America has become something different than what it has historically said it was.That slow but steady erosion of noble first principles has broken the interlinked chain that we once called democracy.
@blogintonblakley2708
@blogintonblakley2708 Жыл бұрын
Civilization is a way of living together characterized by the use of hierarchical systems that render control of the resources everyone needs into a very few hands. What you are describing is a consequence of how we do civilization. All civilization uses hierarchy as a means to organize society. This creates a motivation for greed within the community. This greed motive to gain power within a hierarchy allows greed to flourish. When greed flourishes in any society, the community is in danger of being subject to the will of the greedy. So entire nations get set up to serve the interests of greedy individuals. The USA is a clear example of this. Individual interests are different than national interests. So as this process of filtering the greediest to the top continues within a society the national interests are set to the side in order to serve the private interests of the rich. This is why civilizations constantly fall apart or are forced to reorganize themselves... and the entire process starts over with a new set of authoritarians setting up a different hierarchy. Civilized people are trained in the acceptance of authority. This is a major weakness in the system.
@jgalt308

But we never called it democracy...and that "historically said" as well as the "first principles" reference require considerably more clarification. Of course, you might be appealing to the ephemeral "what everybody knows" when the real state of knowledge is that "nobody knows".

On your SNAPS AND FOOD IN SECURITY. I have questions for you Sir Wolff. This was a very good article. First do think they had to lower the snap benefits so we could help out all of the immigrants coming to our Country. Do we have to divide our tax money up in order to help out more people? First our health care is horrific! When an immigrant comes to America . If they have a catastrophic Health Emergency we should take care of them. But we shouldn't be treating them and their families for colds and flu and stuff that is non-lethal unless we're doing it first for American Citizens. How's your FREE HEALTH CARE GOING? When immigrants crossing the border come over into the United States for health care all of it is FREE! There's no deductible! It's absolutely free and we're paying for it with our tax money. Now that's not fair. They don't have to pay anything. There having heart bypasses and other serious medical procedures and guess who's paying for it! You are! And guess who's not getting the benefits of government sponsored health care! Americans aren't. We spent right now 18.8 Billion dollars on free health care for immigrants crossing over into our country. That doesn't include the cost of food stamps and snap benefits. This also raises our national deficit and causes inflation.

i would say the problems of infrastructure (eg rail) arent due to problems with the political parties .. they're due to the fundamentals of the USA political/economic system (from which those parties emerged and dominate)

Sir Wolff; Here's a little bit of interesting information on the railways! Are train derailments up ? Are they down? There is a report out there that the AAR has submitted a safety alert notice. Your seeing this on some Reddit threads but basically its a bunch of metal kinda stacked on railroad tracks secured with some straps and stuff like that and this appeared on the railroad thread and also appeared on some of the prepper threads saying you know is this sabotage? What is causing all these train derailments! Yes there has always been train derailments but have they increased significantly? Are Train derailments up or down? We conflicting information from people. What's actually causing those train derailments. Is this maintenance issues? Is this sabotage? First of all the total number of train derailments is down or at least flatlined for the last number of years but train miles traveled is also down significantly! So with train miles down the rate of train derailments per train traveled mile is actually up. It's been up 5 out of the last seven years. It's going up. So if your a train the chances of you getting derailed on any given mile is up significantly from prior years. So is there an issue? I don't really care if there's less trains and then total less derailments. The simple fact is the likelihood of your train being derailed is going up. That is important! If you get rid of half the cars on the road and car accidents decrease by 25%. That means you've increased by 50 percent the chance of each car having an accident. That's not good news. So we have less trains out there. Even miles traveled by car derailments are up. So it's not just like well there's less trains but the trains are longer and so they're more susceptible to being derailed but overall cars themselves have less of a chance per mile to be derailed. Actually that's going up as well. So these are very interesting numbers. It seems there's more derailments than in the past. And more safety issues than in the past. What causes train derailments. Twenty three percent are caused by track failures. The percentage of derailments caused by track issues has actually been decreasing for the past twenty years. What has been increasing has been equipment failure. This is increasing every year. That could be maintenence issues of the train cars themselves. Twenty four percent of train derailments in the last number of years have been human error and that is increasing 36 percent, equipment failure increasing every year 23 percent track failures and that is decreasing every year.

Perhaps one way to rationalize spending is some kind of contribution to democracy index. I think keeping people well condition with fun , culture and all basic necessities probably make large contributions. Helping Ukraine fight off Russian invasion? Not sure how big that index would be.

The analogy to 1930's ignores the status of globalization and the international competition. American people still maintain the highest income not because they are better educated or skilled, but because they are provided with a social system. American worker productivity is at best the same as an Asian worker's. If there is no other reason, an American worker would have been paid the same rate as a Chinese worker or a Vietnamese worker, no matter how American workers unite to fight. Therefore, there must be other important factors which this analysis has failed to include, rendering it incomplete.

@@breft3416 I was homeless in amerika for much of my youth. It's virtually impossible to starve or suffer malnutrition in amerika even if you tried hard. LA has massive social services that come dripping in the blood of the global victims of US imperialism. Starvation, stunted growth/malnutrition is rampant in countries that are victim to amerika. There is no real poverty in amerika.
