I started supporting Leonard in the early 1990's. I can not believe that we are still fighting this battle almost 50 years since his conviction, which was not truly for murder , but for aiding and abetting in the deaths of Coler and Williams. The government has never proven who pulled the trigger, and they admit that they don't know who in fact did kill the agents. Unfortunately, aiding and abetting, carried the same sentence. As the attorneys mentioned, Leonard was sentenced under a wholly different set of standards then, than are in place today. He should have been paroled decades ago. Given Leonard's age, health and years of incarceration I urge everyone to flood the Biden administration, and Congressional members with requests for his immediate release through Executive Clemency.
