Ellsberg did not go to Jail, as it, although shocking, it was not against the law. It is true that he fully expected to go to jail. And other dissidants at that time also expected to go to jail. For instance, Noam Chomsky expected to go to jail for his speaking out against the war in Viet Nam. And we thought we were living in "interesting times". Relativel to today, those were peaceful orderly times. A little "love not war" would be welcome these crazy days of common extrajudicial executions and prosecutatorial overreach.

Around the 3:00 minute mark, Snowden mentions the difference between those in U.S. government jobs paid directly by the government and those working for private contractors - the private contract workers make more money. Privatization of public services is a core issue in the vast increase in corruption in DC and in the hearts of our people - in the degradation of public service. Snowden is a remarkable public servant - despite having worked for a private contractor. He gave it all up - including his personal freedom and security - in order warn us about government surveillance.
@MrArtVein3 жыл бұрын
Go back and watch the movie about him. It's not necessarily the privatization of govt jobs, it's the freedom that govt contractors have because they aren't direct hires. The govt hires these contractors because they can get away with killing unarmed innocent citizens via drone because they think a video camera is a gun. And while these folks gather the spaghetti-ed brains of their brother and what's left of his body into a bucket, the govt turns their head sever all ties and act like they don't know what happened. True story. This actually happened
