It never works because no country or republic can compete without trade. Macroeconomics is unsustainable. Sabotage comes from all sides and within. The seeds of pride have been sown and germinate to the conditions of today. From where is our productivity gonna come? Moral arguments are always flowery speeches like in abolitionists times.

You have to assimilate or nullify the virus (bigotry/racism/intolerance) in order to get rid of it. So separation would be a problem if you want to get rid of the virus.

Along with reparations, we could also request to be paid for the insurance collected on our ancestors after they were deliberately and intentionally killed (for insurance money). We could request for interest and penalties on our overdue reparations- just like the interest and penalties that THEY put on overdue money- like the interest THEY put on a home loan, on a home that you have paid 4 to 5 times over before you finally “pay it off”.

I'm Choctaw Native American, a few thousand Natives of the Five Tribes used to own slaves, most of the Tribes and Nations of these Tribes made slavery legal. But our Tribal Nations made emends through cash and land reparations via 1866 treaty - lands such as Black Wall Street sat on is allotted tribal land reserved for Freedmen, but the community was destroyed by white mobs and the state of Oklahoma. You owe the Freedmen of Oklahoma for all the land stolen, property damage and Freedmen you displaced, as well as the Blacks who migrated to Freedmen lands to live the American dream. Other Five Tribe members and many other Tribes and Natives were allies of escaped slaves - they provided alliances, acceptance and citizenship. Native America became a refuge for runaway Black Slaves. The Five Tribes and other Natives made amends, why can't the USA? It's time to make amends United States to decadents of slaves, jim crow, land theft, redlining etc.. The USDA and other Departments stole 20 million acres from Black Farmers, you need to give their descendants and farmers land buy back programs.

So, it's more akin to the Romans enslaving germanic tribals they went to war with. Second, we're talking about chattel slavery which the African nations selling into the slave trade did not engage in and did not understand. Slavery was for one generation and the children became the citizens of the overhead culture. The main issue was religion. Once they stopped being pagans, they weren't viable as slaves anymore. This was one of those wonderful surprises when I watch Democracy Now. This evening in my opinion they broadcast a truly historical moment. The author, Nicole Hannah Jones, of The 1819 Project, was featured as she gave a speech to The United Nations. It was momentous occasion for Ms. Jones to say out loud what many of my generation have learned yet too many others don't know--how the slave trade came to North America. More so, she presented strong evidence as to why there should be reparations for the descendants of African slaves. I have now bought her book to read in greater detail why it frightens so many Caucasians in this country so much to hear the truth that is within these pages. This publication of this book was the catalyst for the fear and total misunderstanding of Critical Race Theory. She was eloquent and evocative. I only wish that she had taken her gloves all the way off as she stood on this global stage to speak in greater detail of the evil violence that permeated the slave states. (I have recently learned that even NY is amongst one of the states that wished to succeed.) This was a moment in history on this grand stage to tell the world about pregnant slave women being hung and their fetus ripped out of them or how chopped heads of slaves who attempted to escape were put on poles and lined city streets to put fear into other slaves. She spoke of the slave ships but did not verbalize how slaves were packed in the bottom cabins of ships, chained, sleeping amongst the excrements of one another. There were horrid deeds that justify the need for reparations. There is more and worse in this awful period of history. This truth is trying to be burned and forbidden in many schools. Yes, it was inhumane. However, if this nation does not learn and face this history and atone for this brutality, this barbarism, it will simmer and possibly come to a boil that will... I believe in the power that is within Education. Let us all learn that every human being is worthy of respect.

Don't forget that slaves were mortgaged. And these mortgages were the basis of collateralized debt instruments (i.e., bonds) that were traded in places like the London Stock Exchange. Mortgaged slaves formed America's first bond market. In this way, many different nations directly profited from the Trans-Atlantic slave trade. You have to include this wealth in reparations also. BTW, this type of information is analyzed/investigated in Nikola Hannah-Jones' '1619 Project'...that's where I learned of this.

Sure wheres my money? I am Irish and my ancestors were slaves to Vikings. I cant wait for the finish to pay back my ancestors slave work in the potato fields. Or does that not count? Do biracial babies count? Do they get half? Do we test skin color or do we test genetics? See how crazy this is. Also you should watch Thomas Sowells, a renowed African American historian on slavery, he shows how nearly ever civilization dealt in slavery and how africans enslaved africans and sold them. So where do we start and end with grievances and reperations? Do the Ottamans owe Italians for the sailers they enslaved in 16th century? One fifth of their population was enslaved, or do they not count because they were white?

Amen, Sister... The greatest crime against humanity was slavery. Most white people don't want to talk about it because they are so ashamed of "their history" , while others are proud of their hatred towards God's people. The LORD said, I will avenge My people so when God is ready to execute His judgement on all the nations that enslaved His people, there will be victory. My people, continue to trust in the Most High, He has plans and redemption for you once the fullness of the Gentiles has been fulfilled. There is an awakening amongst our people so I hope you have ears to hear. Shalom!

There are white people outside of the US and most white people are willing to talk about slavery. A big chunk of white people are the descendents of slaves themselves. There is no collective white people's history. Slavery is something all humans regardless of skin tone should stand against and if they don't they should be ashamed. The world is vast and there are all kinds of people in it with many different kinds of cultures and skin tones. We should neither define ourselves or others by skintone or ethnicity. Aleichem shalom! As for representations in the US. I pray that your nation finds peace by any means possible.

Life is Not a one way street and Blacks have to be held to the Same Standard and Since it is Fair for a Race of People to have to pay and be Punished for What there Race done 150 years ago then ALL Races have to pay for what there Race has Done from 150 years ago to today and will be doing Crime Tomorrow. Careful what you ask for. you Still want that Check? for you will be in Prison on Death Row for the Crimes that Your Race Done over 150 years ago to Today and tomorrow.
