There needs to be an age limit for all public service. Congress requires Generals to retire by age 70, so if that's the benchmark for the military, then the rest of the government needs to follow suit. Including the Supreme Court. The reasoning given for limiting Generals to age 70 is because of the potential for unsound judgment due to advanced age and cognitive degradation. I say if that's their reasoning, then those that control the military must follow the same standard. You can't be taken seriously in leadership if you impose or enforce a standard you're unwilling to follow yourself.

Whoa… you’ve thought that way about the Democratic Party for 40 years and you haven’t walked away? What’s the matter with you?

I agree the Dem party needs a reboot despertaely to separate themselves from corporate control. I would like to know who counts as an "elite" of the Left, since those with Left, not Liberal, politics in general reject capitalism as a structure and therefore want equal rights and access to all folks regardless of their status. Millionaires would not exist in actual progressive leaning policy. This isn't an argument of teams, this is old guard money vs new guard progressivism, and Dem leadership has chosen time and again to go for money over principle (Bernie being iced out twice for Hillary and Biden, AOC being blocked from the current role, magically can't get stuff done because the Parlimentary Said So, etc)

I’m with you, Leigh. I’m disillusioned with our Dems, too. For many years. 💪🏼♥️

58 years of voting Democrat. After the Biden fiasco (pushing him out) and now Pelosi undermining AOC's bid for House leadership I'll be switching to independent.

I am a "Boomer" but I have never lived in the past. I don't sit around and wish for the "good ol' days" I do my best to "roll with the changes" Thank you for your service Ms. Pelosi. You have done many good things for this nation but the time has come to pass the torch. AOC was the right person and I feel, strongly, that you and Mr. Schumer are stuck in the past and that is never a good place to be.

The way both backstabbed Biden and push him out was so hypocrite, they both need to retire.

As an Ohio Independent........ Democrat party needs to focus on ALL not just States they think are battle grounds...... they need to support down ballot. Sherrod Brown did not have enough Democrat support or he would have won Ohio. Everyone matters. I am a never Trumper however I'm not a Republican or Democrat, I will vote for who is best for the office and the people. America is built on the middle class. I called Pelosi office yesterday and asked her to support AOC and the next generation. It's time to let the younger people take over.

As a 73 yeard old, I 100 percent agree with every word! There has to be Term limits. We have to have new blood, YOUNG blood. The old guard can't monopolize the future. Only the young can.

As a 72 year old Democrat I believe it is time that people who have been in Congress for years if not decades should start turning over the reins of power to the up and coming younger generation who have proven themselves time and time again that they are ready to step forward for the good of the party and people who they represent. As the saying goes out with the old in with the new. Maybe it's time for term limits. That way we always have the young people to take over where the old seem to fall time and time again.
