This strategy they're using is a series of "crisis-events" (and it may be shock, but it is NOT awe) that keep the short attentioned spanned public distracted trying to compute whats happening, and before they can compute and begin to ask questions, another crisis event occurs, the previous one is left behind, and when these events continue to occur, it ends up over loading, exhausting, and desensitizing peoples brains, people just stop questioning, or even paying attention to whats going on. This strategy is used successfully in other sectors by scammers, and while there is a way to expose and corner them, it takes a lot of people who are on the same page to do it, and as already mentioned, the whole thing is so exhausting that its just easier for people to just live their lives and hope for the best.
