They just don't talk about it on TV. Our country is riddled under a cloud of secrecy whose intentions are to Cloud the minds of the Common Man or to occupy them rather so try not to focus what's really going on. But what they overlooked is all men are created equal there's nothing special about them having paper printed with green ink on it or metals that they consider thier 'precious' reveals the Golem hidden within their souls. Because they have no consideration of man being equal and that we all perish the same way.

I get that it was kind of funny that Yang said "sorry?" in response to his first question, but after the moderator repeated the question, he gave the most detailed and thoughtful answer of the whole debate. He hasn't gotten fair coverage yet, and this program's framing of his response unfortunately contributes to that because many average folk will only ever see this clip. Normally this show is good at accurately portraying a person while also being very comedic, so this is extra disappointing.

Yang should be offering the $1000 on top of the social programs. His offer to either take the cash or the benefits is a rather unsubtle way of kicking people off of welfare programs. Also the value added tax is the one of the most regressive taxes there is. The money for a UBI should come from the top 1% exclusively. The UBI can be an effective way of reducing poverty and severe economic inequality but not the version he’s pushing. The version he’s pushing is a right wing distortion.

UBI is nice if it is put ON TOP of social safety systems, not instead of them. If some people get money on top, but vulnerable people had to use the ubi to pay what was preciously covered by the social safety policies, that's creating more inequality. And as far as I've seen, Yang is for the latter, which is dangerous.
@NeonMoon87
@NeonMoon87 5 жыл бұрын
@@Yanaschaf he wants them to stack up. So, let's say, you're getting $600/mo. from government assistance, the freedom dividend aka UBI would give you $400 to equal it to $1000.
@patrickn578
@patrickn578 5 жыл бұрын
@@Yanaschaf Yang's plan allows people to choose which option works best for them. More broadly though if someone is only getting, say, 500 at month from the current system an extra 500 would make a massive difference to that person. Whilst you might be annoyed that even Jeff Bezos gets a free 1000 a month, which would mean nothing to him, even modest increase in reliable cash to the lower classes could be life-changing for them. You're also missing a key part of Yang's approach, by creating a mindset of abundance, as opposed to a mindset of scarcity, it creates a political landscape in which to strengthen the social welfare systems further for those who need it. Also, don't underestimate the 'no strings attached' benefits of UBI. Let's say someone is receiving 1000 in welfare now. In order to get that 1000 they likely have to prove their eligibility and jump through a whole bunch of bureaucracy which leads to added stress and uncertainty. As well UBI has no stigma associated with it as it's universal. You also need to consider the economic benefits of increasing the purchasing power of lower and middle classes. This flood of UBI money will be circulated around the local economy which in turn creates new jobs and opportunities, even for those currently on welfare. So, join the Yang Gang: www.yang2020.com/policies/

It makes since that he would support the only gay candidate running. Buttigieg's campaign has had complete transparency for every donation. He's not hiding any dark money and there is no evidence that any donation has had an impact on any of his decisions. Running for President as a mid-sized city mayor instead of a Senator who had been building up a warchest for years has many disadvantages. I personally don't see a problem with him trying to even the playing field. You didn't hear anyone else being asked how specifically they were going to implement their policies. And in 2016 one candidate became POTUS even after he specifically avoided telling people anything concrete about his plans. I'm a fan of intellect as much as the next guy, that's why I'm seriously rooting for Harris. But I've read Yang's tax plan. I think it's a waste of resources to divvy up across the entire population all at once like a tax refund. (He's literally just trying to bribe everyone.) But aside from that the math checks out. Paired that with everything else on the Democratic agenda and it's plausible we could get everything done on a 0-2% tax hike on the middle class and below. Which is big news for everyone on the left who's been told by the likes of Shapiro that there just isn't anyway for Healthcare reform, Education reforms, et al with what money we have. Yang's proof that the money's been there the whole time, it's just not been accessible under trickle-down economics.

LucianCanad I was not ready for a ‘Captain Planet’ reference, in this comment section: but it bloody fits, and I damn well love it haha. From now on; whenever I see her being interviewed, or in a debate, I’m gonna be looking for her power ring, and humming the theme tune haha. “Captain Planet, he’s our our hero, Gonna take pollution down to zero...” Trump reminds me of Looten Plunder (though crossed with Hoggish Greedly- a pig-like human character): one of the bad guys from ‘Captain Planet’. And, if Marianne Williamson somehow won the nomination (which currently seems as likely as ME winning Miss Universe haha), and beat him, I could definitely see Trump yelling: “You’ll pay for this, Marianne Williamson!” Shaking his tiny fist, as he scuttles off back to one of his lairs- probably Trump Tower or Mar-A-Lago: awaiting the “knock-knock” from the FBI, and all the lovely indictments they (hopefully) pile on him...ah, a man can but dream/hope/pray haha. Jeez, after all these ‘Captain and Planet’ references, I reckon, on the “Pathetic Geek Scale” of 1 to 10, me being able to; not only remember the name of the bad guy/s, “Looten Plunder”, and “Hoggish Greedly”, but also that he (Plunder) was the character who said “You’ll pay for this, Captain Planet” in the theme song, I’m probably at an 11...thousand haha. It’s odd: I started off watching a video about political debates, and ended up quoting from a 90’s kids show, about and fighting eco terrorism haha. And now I’m off to listen to the ‘Captain Planet and the Planeteers’ theme music, a thousand times: because it is fantastic...”Go Planet!” 😀👍

@Cpl Soletrain One, the Russians never had any part of the polls. The democrats are just screaming about that, because they just won't admit that there is a president that is better than the democrat candidates, and he got so many votes, that he even beat out all the dem's voter frauds. Also, I highly doubt that he lied about the veterans funds, and kept the money for himself. Because look at him now. He is getting more money than now than he did then, and now he is donating all of it to charities and organizations. Also, he didn't do what you said he did. And, even if he did, it is better than having a president that did that, than a president, that is a witch, thief, and a murderer, with whose followers are going against the laws that our forefathers established.

Regardless of what order you place the words, democratic socialism *is* a form of socialism, as there are roughly 8 different forms of socialism. And yet, the people who keep trying to declare that social democracy isn't socialism cannot themselves differentiate the multiple forms of socialism or recognize that democratic socialism is in fact one of them. He’s spreading name recognition and familiarizing people with his central UBI policy and will have more time as the field thins. Still 2 questions is a travesty. People should not have to act like Gillibrand to get time to speak in an organized structured debate. He was too respectful of the rules, sure, but that shouldn’t even be a problem in the first place. I’ve had enough of a president that just shouts over people already instead of making strong points that are factually backed.

Sanders is too much of a zero sum game proponent, you know 'someone' has to lose, e.g. Wall Street, Big Pharma, Military Industrial Complex..etc before others win and is way too combative, basically the mirror image of Trump, and both, unlike Andrew Yang, are thin on solutions that are relevant to the 21st century and specifically how to harness the rapid emergence of AI directed automation technology for human concern. You get Bernie in the identity politics will simply continue, us vs them. *This is the 3rd innings of the 4th Industrial revolution and Andrew is the only candidate that recognizes the challenges.* For example we are less than a decade away from displacing 3 million truck drivers with AI directed self driving trucks, and the attitude we should have towards this isn't protectionism but an enthusiasm to see extraordinary efficiency gains coupled with the plumitting of fatalities due to human error. We should be rooting for similar gains in efficiency outcomes in as many cognitive repetitive & manually repetitive jobs(approx 40% of all jobs in the US both blue & white collar) throughout the economy and if we are not then we should be calling into question 20th century thinking about the economy and this is the thrust of Andrew's campaign, it's *not Left or RIght it is forward!!* Bernie and other democratic candidates are to narrowly invested in the toxic left/right narrative it will only serve to continue the decisiveness that Trump Presidency bought with it. Without a unified vision that Andrew brings to the table, society will end up continuing to tearing itself apart. I'm open to be convinced otherwise...

Yang and Castro are probably gonna shine based on substance, once these debate fields get whittled down. Right now, most candidates are just dancing around the questions looking for soundbites. Eventually, those other candidates are gonna need a better plan than "we're gonna rally the people!"

@@thatjillgirl -- Yes, it was his weakest performance on the main question: "How do you do it?" So many times i've seen him fleshing it out in accesible ways on shows and in interviews. I guess being in that large hall, with all the noise around, made it hard for him. Even though I hate that Seth and Stephen Colbert only showed Yang's confusion at the question, and not his answer, I can understand that those hosts focus on the main attractions and sprinkle over with some clips of the 'crazies'. It was predictable how Marianne Williamson would be treated. The media staff of the shows already had their narrative written, she just had to open her mouth.

He delivered a good and well-spoken response which the late night hosts have all unfairly omitted, but in the end it still didnt add up. Up front he didn't refute the "3 trillion" figure cited by the debate moderator, then he explained how he would generate, by his own estimate, 800 billion in revenue to pay for it. That's a lot, but it's still 2.2 trillion unaccounted for. Maybe there wasn't enough time to get to that part? I would hope that if that's the case, he would complete his explanation on social media after the debate.

It's called Silent assassination. They only let the one they support, mic on and those that they like to kill off easily turn on. Hence, when a argument happen only couple of the candidate mic was on so, their candidate could show off more. For those that had their Mic off, they already nail them in the coffin. No matter how much you complaint about it, their only explanation is technical difficulty. For real, you're suppose to be professional, hire professional to handle the debate.
