I enjoy all the comments about people seeing the mites on their scalp and how they can’t get rid of them. That’s Lice guys! Demodex is too small to see. I have demodex in my eyelid on one side but you can’t see them. If you see them, that’s not demodex. It’s Lice.

2 years ago, I diagnosed myself per my hair loss and demodex mites. I contacted my doctor and explained all my research of what I am near certain the issue is: the doctor listened to me and at the end of my explanation he replied saying “I have no idea what you’re talking about”.

All I need is a microscope to look at the little white things I often pick off my scalp (especially when my scalp is greasy- that’s when I feel most itchy, have sand like white grains on my scalp, and experience most hair fall). I believe I have a gut that needs a good cleanse and I need to cut my refined sugar addiction (sugar in which parasites feed off of including demodex mites) - 2 years ago, I ate a very clean diet for 3 months, and my hair stoped falling and I experienced less itching. I’d argue- SUGAR, candida overgrowth and a bad gut are the reasons for demodex feasting on the sebum nutrients of hair follicles. You need to balance your vitamins and minerals in your system. You need to pretty much avoid if not cut your refined sugar intake. Good exercise and good quality sleep all go hand in hand. When I was staying up until 3am and sleeping to 10a or sometimes staying up until 6a binge watching Netflix series, after a couple months I noticed my hair just easily falling out in excess. Poor diet, no exercise, poor sleep, no proper vitamins routine all contribute….

I have been to almost all the dermatologists in this area and not one of them said anything about demadex mites on my scalp. I do ingested too much sugar and I have a stress overload. This makes so much sense! Do these mites poop? I often find black specs on my forehead. My face also breaks out often around my mouth and nose area and these black specs come out of my nose. Have no clue what this might be. I was recently diagnosed with Lyme disease and figured this is why I have had a rash on the front side of my body only on stomach, lower arms and front of thighs. Sometimes my upper back as well. It’s something that is embedding itself into my skin. Sometimes I can see a dark spec and the bit may sting. Do you know what this could be. It’s not bed bugs and not scabies. Lots of people talk about having these same symptoms around the US and all the doctors tell us we need to go see a psychiatrist. It’s very nerve racking.

I’m having the same issues, but worse. 6-8 years now. Demodex do not have an anus, so all there dirt just stays on them until they die, I think. I haven’t been out of my apartment in six years, whatever I have started popping across the room everywhere. Hit my new primary Dr. in the chest two weeks ago, she flailed like roaches were crawling on her shirt and left a dime sized wet spot. I calmly asked her if she felt that, "she replied yes, idk what that was". I told her something popped on the top of my head and I watched it hit you, she shook it off and sent me to my 15th Dermo. This Dermo didn’t even check my scalp, I had my bang area up on the top of my head with two clips in and a ponytail. It’s like a win/loss situation, if I sleep with my hair down, my eyebrows, eyes, nose, lips and inside my mouth is a train wreck. If I put it up, they multiply like crazy on my scalp but face is good. I felt things crawling under the clips so I just showered and left my hair up from the night before, I shower before bed also. I have bad allergies so I don’t get into bed without showering unless I’m exhausted and pass out, even though I change my bedding every day now too. Well, I almost died when I left that office. It was 105 degrees out and my air compressor broke a week before, I had tea tree oil, lice defense spray and freeze gel in my hair so nothing will pop on anyone. I get to my son’s work, with heat stroke, hahaha! I was so angry and shaking from a three hour visit that was mostly driving, basically feeling like I’m on my death bed and rubbed the sweat from the back of my neck, I was soaking wet. Little white eggs sprayed my car and there was a beige live bug on my collar trying to crawl back up, first time I saw one that wasn’t squished in the nit comb. The little black things, but one was crawling up my leg last night and I’ve seen them in the bathroom crawling after I comb my hair. idk what they are either and they are stuck like glue to each strand of hair and was trying to get it off with my nail, nope. The hair broke first. I jumped out of my car to try to get a photo but it was in an awkward position and running, I kept blowing on it and it would stop but started running as soon as I stopped and sticking to my shirt, I had to flick it off. Maybe lice? Idk, I don’t do bugs and my kids never had them. I know I have an overgrowth of Demodex in my eyelashes and now possibly all over, caught them from sharing a room with my son in my ex best friends apartment who I’m ashamed to say was my friend now, she’s dirty and has no concern for humanity. She got me sick, was supposed to help me with my surgeries and instead she stuck me and my son in her filthy bedroom, half was storage but she was supposed to help me clean it and paint from her last roommate that destroyed that room, her bed. It took her weeks to clean what she could, before we moved in. Six months in, nothing was getting done and I started having issues with my leg and groin. A week later, she was in the hospital with a staph infection for six weeks and almost lost her leg.. Two years go by, I’m getting worse, barely can walk, back of leg drained watery fluid but I couldn’t go to the hospital, I had my son to take care of , she wanted nothing to do with it. All he needed was a ride to work and home, I drove her all over for 20 years, smh. Still no help and she’s hoarding and garbage picking ,so we got a roach infestation…12 sick cats. I paid her rent, she then brought some dirty man in to share the living room and his homeless, drug addict brother would come shower there every other day, just so she didn’t have to pay any bills and used the man to buy her a car, no relationship at all. She gave him a heart attack last year, I’ve been in my apt. almost three years. I ran out of her apt., I didn’t care that this neighborhood is rough. I just don’t know anymore, since I left her apartment, I know I got it there. Innocent me had to shower after that addict, I bleached the tub but didn’t think about her body scrubber and washcloth, I thought something was wrong with the water because it was stinging me. I’ve brushed out ants, roaches and flies, maggots, gained 60 pounds and everything is starting to fail. I did have seven Drs that believed me. Two retired, the other four doesn’t accept my new insurance but the Dermo that’s giving me oral ivermectin for the past four years will see me as a cash patient. Seriously though, the ivermectin alone isn’t cutting it and the tea tree is starting to bother me. I really don’t know what else I have, My first Dermo sent my samples of two or three yellow/orange lentil sized but rounder samples that popped out of my jawline while I was eating. They came back as beetles, unspecified, not bed bugs, Obgyn took a skin sample from my lower back, came back as e-Coli, cyst on my groin, very painful. The Dermo that is giving me the Ivermectin, seen worms and critters, I’m like what that’s supposed to mean? I was in a bad situation for four years, my ex husband was having an affair with lady vodka and I need (still need) a few surgeries so I wasn’t working. And he decided to stop paying the rent two months before our son was to graduate and had a scholarship to MIT, the man tossed us on the street, my son lost his scholarship and just recieved his diploma at 25…still doesn’t drive (I think he’s scared) he has his permit but it’s crazy where I live, I’m not in a rush for him to drive with the new truck I’m buying today. I did get lucky and called the last lice clinic closest to me and spoke with the Rn, she doesn’t care what I have at this point. She’s going to totally check it and diagnose for a Dr. but wants me to get a lawyer first. My appointment is at 1 but then I’m off to the dealership so I won’t be back until late. I’ll let you know what the rn says, I’m so afraid she is going to shave my head.

@@TheJoyQueenForever You can hardly see the mites living in your eyelids, but there are many types of mites. In general, adult mites vary significantly in size depending on the species. Most mites typically measure between 0.25 to 0.75mm micrometers (0.01 to 0.03 inches). However, some species can be as large as 6 millimeters (0.25 inches). The Demodex-something mites that I have on my scalp and forearms are as tiny as a poppy seed and as large as a tiny rice or cumin seed, depending on where they are in their lifecycle.

Could you talk more about how stress can affect this issue. I have suffered with this since I was a young child. I have changed my diet and body hygiene. I have a flare maybe every ten or fifteen years. This last flare came after a relationship break up and family betrayal. I was over stressed. I am calming down now but it is still lingering in my mind. My face is clearing up but it's taking a long time. Can you give me more information on stress and how it affects demodex?

I have Crohn’s disease I have spoke with dermatologist this was a joke I have now tried neem oil with my shampoo and I found sulfur soap helps remove them which is so gross a freak show or like a horror flick it is so gross ! I have been stressed as well not sleeping well I am 51 which I believe starting menopause! I have just purchased your book as well !I am so so fatigued sleeping everyday but up at night ! I do have 3 dogs it is hard to keep up they do lay in bed with me but I clean bedding and keep a clean house and disinfect my house and bathroom !! The other day I thought I was having mites die off I am hoping that’s the case but every night I wash my hair and body and it seems like I can just scrub and scrub this rows off these things off my scalp and the biting is less but it just seems like I am just keeping up with them every night well I wash my hair ! I would love to see a video on what to use I will try alternating with tea tree oil but it is so strong I mix it with my shampoo ! What else can I do for this please and I thank you so much

Did your hair regrow after treatment? Also i encounter excessive graying which seems related What seems to work for me is: 1. Melatonin + sauna - melatonin makes mites go out and high temperature in sauna kills the mites 2. Benzyl benzoate shampoo - look out to not touch your eyes because its very harsh for them 3. A lot of sun - improves immunity and i think UV light kills mites as well Let me know what you think about it. I still have an issue with eyes im not sure how to fix it, only cleaning them often and sauna works. I tried ivermectin but without result. I did 15-20mg (im 70kg) every 4-5 days for 5 weeks.
