It's also one of my favorite interpretations of the song. in this video, the picture, the candles. The fact that the girl isn't upset or angry, but more concerned. This song, Better Than Me and Hinder in general have a huge impact on my life. My father left me and my mother when I was 7. Was incredibly stressful for us. But perhaps the worst of it was my mother's broken heart. I was really all she had, and I never left her. Any time I'd be with her when she was driving, she'd be playing Hinder, 3 Doors Down, Shinedown and lots of other artists who make these types of former love songs. She seems worried about him, she wants to make him forget but she's failing. 4) The picture on his desk, when people die you keep their pictures right ? Otherwise why would he have this picture ? why keep a picture of his ex while living with his new girlfriend ? isn't he afraid that his blond girlfriend will see it ? 5) Song lyrics : " LET HER DIE DON'T WANT TO SAY GOODBYE " he doesn't want to say goodbye. His ready to feed himself anything to justify her absence. Anything ! He doesn't want to acknowledge that she's dead. .... his state of mind is so focused to make this fiction real, that he even got the audience to believe that this a typical love triangle about unfaithfulness and betrayal. He got you to believe his dellusions, so it can be as real as possible. but THE TRUTH : SHE'S DEAD. "its funny that you're calling me tonight" : its funny because this the same day she died. It's the anniversary of her death. This interpretation makes the song more romantic, it's about the love you have for someone who died. He's not unfaithful he's actually very loyal to the girlfriend who died. Just look at his face expression his in severe emotional pain.
