This song is so addicting, I love it! Awesome hearing an in-depth take, as per usual. Thank you Mark! Also, this is almost more of a question than a suggestion, but, is there a specific reason on why death metal vocalists and deathcore vocalists tend to sound different? For example why Travis Ryan and Dickie Allen sound a lot different even though they share some techniques, or like Frank Mullen vs Phil Bozeman. Is it breathiness or lack of professional technique, or is there something technical about it that I can't quite figure out?
@KardavoxAcademy3 жыл бұрын
Glad you liked the video! Thats a solid question. Some if it comes down to the natural differences in out voice. A lot also comes down to things such as timbre, articulation, projection, etc. Think of it this way. Sing the first line of "Happy Birthday". Now, sing it again with your words exaggerated, opening your jaw nice and wide. Now again, but with your tongue curled. These were all technically the same technique (True Cord phonation) but with vastly different articulation. And then, you could sing that song nasally, low and warm, or forward and bright.
@AgainstTheeWickedlyMusic3 жыл бұрын
@@KardavoxAcademy Hmm, alright, well that seems to make sense to me, and I was thinking that may have been part of it. Very interesting, thank you for the reply! I'm trying to learn to false chord scream so I can do vocals for the music I make, and I've always found it easier and safer (for me) to sound more death metal-y than deathcore-y. Greetings! First and foremost: Great video, as always. Although I feel the analysis was a litte less "in depth" this time, but this could just be me. Plus, as you said: there is a lot to this song. Now I know you're getting a lot of recommendations (just from this video's comments alone), and mine are not even english, but if you still want some, I would be interested in your insight and opinion on those: > Ultar - Kadath (or Swarm, because Kadath has a 3min Intro) > Totengeflüster - Totengeflüster (or anything else from them, really) > Bezwering - Uitgeteert (those clean sections ...) Anyway, keep up the good work, looking forward to the next video. Merry Christmas!
