You dont need to do the run back, once you die to the boss, just close app before the "myst" comes, restart, and you will spawn in front of the bossroom ☺️

I got passed the Flamelurker pretty easily, I thought the rest of the bosses would be easy since I see a lot of people say Flamelurker is the hardest. I’m on this boss now, I also usually die on my way there and the few times I make it, he seems to really lock onto me after I hit him with the first soul ray.

when you first get in that cave area with the reapers and ghosts things on your right you can see the reaper below , throw a soul remain to bait it off the edge and he dies and kills the lazer guys with it

I never understood why this area didn't have at least some form of shortcut to unlock, even if it cut out only half of that descent back to the boss. This is the only 'level' where I felt like they were just being annoying for the sake of it and you gained nothing from actually beating the level first which usually yields the reward of a shortcut, however brief it may be, to get back to the boss.

It's very weird and inconsistent with the rest of the game. The only thing I can think of is it's next to a solid farming hub, so perhaps they thought that was a good enough tradeoff.

Thief ring and adjucator(?)’s shield is helpful on this run. Shield can block the lazer beam to do modest damage. And u can run past the last reaper and spam dodge while running away in case u get hit by his blue spell attack. No heavy rolls obviously

Even easier way to beat the boss without taking any damage is to simply use the thief ring. He won't even see you, he won't aggro any time and it's an easy clap. As for the cave, soul remains will be your best friend. The guys will literally walk straight off the edge. All you have to worry about are the 2 reapers hiding.

Those are no bugs attacks, he detects you if you hit him with ranged attacks

if he is aggro'd and you hit him - then he reacts. You can get 2 hits in before he aggros and if you wait 2 seconds he de-aggros right away.

It's not really that strange that he runs at you when you shoot him with a bow. Despite him being blind, he charges in the direction the attack is coming from, which is probably what you would actually do for real if you're blind and fighting someone who shoots at you from a distance xD

There are 3 Reapers in that area. One was missed in the video. Behind the large spectre on the stairs is a little corner where he is hanging out and summoning things.

The first time I got to his arena I had no trouble, but once he killed me I could never get back to him. This video was the only reason I was able to reach him. I ended up using poison kunai on him then occassionally coming in and jabbing him with my spear while wearing the thief ring and using the cloak spell. I actually noticed those spirits can't use their laser attack if you're too close, so using cloak with the thief's ring lets you get right up to them before they can fire one of those lasers at you.

also, if you can also shortcut by rolling to the right (right before the pillar) at 0:51 in the video, and end up right on top of the reaper and u can easily take him out by pushing him back/down the cliff, destroying all the ghosts. so basically skipping from 0:51 to 1:22 in the video essentially. will save you soul remains too.

Pro tip, if you really want a 100% consistent Strat on this fight, beat leechmonger and get poison cloud. You can just cast and go sit in an area where he won't wander for a while. Slow, but doesn't fail. You'll need to cast poison cloud a few times, but if you're in dark tendency with the thief ring, you'll be fine. I believe you need to cast about 6 times.

anyone who came here looking for the shortcut who was severely disappointed by the lack of shortcut in this video, i'll tell you. 0:50 turn right 90 degrees and roll, youll land on a small ledge then roll backwards off that and youll be behind the 1st phantom that usually lazer beams the stairs. If you also have the cat ring, you can kill the reaper on that floor and then jump down right behind where he is and you'll survive and be right in the boss room. Edit to this comment. In the remaster there is no ledge. There is a broken pillar that you must land on instead, and the cat ring jump seems to be inconsistent in the remaster. Sometimes you die, sometimes not.

Thief Ring makes it very easy! Just make sure to mostly attack him from behind. You're much less likely to get attacked that way.

A lot of people are complaining about how difficult it is to get to the Old Hero. There’s a reason why this specific area is called Ritual Path, worse comes to worse just quit the game the second you die and restart it if it’s becoming unbearable. You’ll jump back into the game at a good spot.

I don't think I've ever not done this boss with poison throwing daggers. If you play it like another souls game by dodging around him, you just get fucked up.. But the hardest thing here is getting to him when playing a magic character. Everything kills you in 1-2 hits.. On my magic playthrough now, haven't even gotten past the 3rd reaper yet.. 20 deaths so far.. I miss my spear/shield :(

I did it on PS3 👌 Also I didn’t think to use the Soul Remains, I just bolted through and blocked and killed who I needed 💪 I just melee’ed the bastard with my +7 Bastard Sword. 100% of the time I've used Soul Remains here I've had the enemies B line right to me. Skellies right up my ass. Tried using Thief Ring and Hidden Body with them as well. No luck. At least the mantra rays left me alone.

The Claymore! It's a really solid weapon. You can buy it from the Dregling Merchant in 1-2 (or rarely find it as a drop from Blue-Eyed Knights). I prefer upgrading it as a Quality weapon. As your STR/DEX increases, it does solid damage.
