I think it's important to mention to newcomers that classes in these games aren't really like classes in other games. They are more like stat sticks, with some extra goodies to start you off. After a few hours, every class blend in with each other.

I’m not getting past the Vangaurd demon. He’s very difficult when a royal. One hit and nexus land doesn’t look so bad. I heard when you beat him he gives you some real cool items.

Mentioning Item burden as a negative without talking about the ability to sent items to storage no matter where you are in the world seems.... wrong.

Burden is like vitality in dark souls, how much you can have equipped at one time, some weapons and armor are way too heavy to have them all equipped at the same time

For the attacking Npc's bit. If I recall correctly Bluepoint actually changed that so the Npc's turns back to non hostile after a while. So no need to kill them like in the og game.

I don't think they turn friendly again over time. What you _can_ do, though, is touch the statue by the center pool to seek forgiveness. It costs 24K souls, but I found the ideal farming spot(s) without consulting any videos/guides beforehand, so it should work out just fine for anyone else.

​@LordTyrone1989 I accidentally hit the gold glowing NPC in the first level right next to the golem looking trader when I was hitting enemies with him. He said watch it I thought we were allies. We just carried on. So you can definitely atleast accidentally hit friendly NPCs atleast once and be OK.

Really!? I finally agreed to play a Souls game after years of my friends telling me I had to. So I got this & am disappointed. The graphics loom way better playing it yourself then watching it which is nice. The combat is slick. The thing that's got me is that so far I've found that the games menu's and mechanics are more challenging then the combat. Everyone saying the game will punish new players as it's so hard, so far I've found it straight forward. Whilst I've only beaten the first couple of bosses now, so I do expect the difficulty to ramp up at some point, I can't stand that the game doesn't tell you anything! How to get to the nexus, world tendencies, upgrading stats, or that buying a crossbow with a certain character type is pointless as you will only do 1hp damage per bolt. Having to look up videos to tell you basic fundamentals of the game isn't fun, it's annoying as hell. I find it such lazy & poor game design that it puts me off even playing it anymore.

u can items to ur storage when ur out the world nexus just go to ur inventory and on the item screen theres an option to send to storage, really nice feature great in ng+!

I know Royal, TK, and Knight are good for new players...however I always recommend choosing a class that looks cool or has weapons you like the look of. I chose thief for my first run on ps3 and had a blast. Magician this time for the remake and also had a great time.

@@saschaeggert2148 Theonky use for Flamelurkers soul is to give it to Ed blacksmith so you can create and upgrade special weapons. Other than that you can consume his souls and get 18k. Flamelurkers souls doesn’t not give you a spell or a miracle.

The game world doesn't start in pure white tendency. You turn it white by killing bosses and not Dying in human form. This means you can play online to get the help messages and summon help, as long as you are in soul form. Your "encumbrance" affects your movement speed, thankfully the game auto sends items to your nexus storage if you are capacity, and you can manually send stuff to the nexus at anytime. These are the very basic stuff that this channel didn't even mention.

I wish they gave detailed info on the tendency system lol. Platinumed BB DS3 etc had never played DeS and I didn’t have a clue about the tendency stuff now it’s NG for the DBS for me lol 😢

I'm definitely not a new player but is has been so long this was a nice refresher course. Of course as I'm a veteran I'm currently destroying the new Remake as I type this. I have not called for help once and I have four bosses left. Addendum- Hold on, you don't have to drop anything. If you have too many grasses they will be added to your Nexus inventory. These items do not cause you to fat roll so carry as many as you want.

But even then, if you get swarmed by more than one your most certainly dead. I really want to enjoy this game but I’m having a hard time. It really makes it more frustrating than anything…

@@specialorder9379 since my last comment ive levelled up a little. The difficulty has been getting from the beginning of an area to the boss with no save points in between. Once I levelled up and upgraded my weapon it became a lot easier to do though

I found out that talking to npc´s a leave make them anger. One og the (the blacksmith) says while i was leaving something "this is preposterous" and "he will let it slide this time" (or something like that).

It cares about SL rather than where you are in a play-through, so you could be in NG+6 and still be summoned by a friend if you simply stop leveling up at around SL50. If that isn’t feasible, I heard that setting a password allows anyone with it to be summoned or invaded by anyone who has the password even if they are SL700 or something.

Not a great guide in all honesty. When talking about burden, failed to mention that items can be sent straight to stockpile thomas now. Didn't mention anything about item weight/ being under 50% to fast roll. Also, you can de-aggro NPCs now like in dark soulds.

You can't everytime you die you restart that map but you can open up shortcuts to get to where you died faster

If you die before killing the van guard demon you can't come back unless you totally restart the game you can only die once fighting the first boss basically the van guard demon.

First time playing a Souls type of game. So far, disappointed. I've only done the first level, & was getting into it, but found it really frustrating that the game tells you nothing!? I beat the first boss, haven't struggled with the "famous" difficulty yet, until I basically broke my sword. Once that happened I only did 1 or 2 damage per hit with the other weapons i had in the inventory. Until I equipped a dagger thing which finally did a normal albeit weak amount of damage. I have to spent around an hour trying to figure out how to fix them, upgrade stats, and how to return to the nexus. Which is about as long as i spent playing the game getting to that point. I hate it when a game doesn't explain it's own mechanics, like world tendencies for examples, says nothing, so you have to look it up online. It's like a bunch of nerds thought by not explaining anything it makes their game cool somehow, or seem harder, therefore everyone says how great it is being a challenge. When your menu's are more challenging then the combat, I quickly lose interest. Just seems like lazy game design. Combat is quite slick, graphics seem a lot better playing it yourself then watching it. I don't know if I care about the game enough to even bother playing it now. Having to look up videos just to tell you how to do basic stuff that the game should do is BS.

Really confused. Play offline to not get killed by invaders to keep white tendency, but if you play in soul form where you can get invaded it doesn't affect tendency. It sounds like a contradiction. Any help?

The online servers keep an average of all players’ World Tendencies. Every time you log on, your World Tendency will shift slightly toward that average.
