Well sound breathing is branched off from thunder breathing, which is why Zenitsu has a good sense of hearing. Tengen also has superhuman sense of hearing called Musical Score which involves Tengen reading his opponents movements and deconstructing them into sound by analyzing the rhythm of their movements, so it makes sense why their so similar
