Another example being Naruto and Sasuke, where they were on the brink of death but somehow the So6p showed up in their heads and revived them. My point is, in an anime, if the character just instantly dies due to an attack, it doesn't make the fight interesting at all, which is why they have plot armor, allowing them to survive these attacks. It's purely just for the story to not be super boring and for there to be an actual fight for us viewers to watch. If you feel that the fight is uninteresting, just don't watch it. Simple as that 🤷‍♂

Tanjiro is an amazing character. He's simple but that doesn't mean bad. Every character doesn't need to be edgy and completely unrelatable on the other side of the spectrum, genuinely good hearted characters are typically loved way more. Tanjiro when kids were polled in Japan was voted as more of a role model then the kids own parents. Goku is a good example that you don't have to be dark and gritty ro be a loved character. I think your take, without sugar coating is stupid as fuck and blatantly wrong. As for power scaling in demon slayer it's linear upwards. Tanjiro is using the most powerful breathing style his quick progression is natural. The reason no other demon slayer uses sun breathing is because they couldn't handle it. Why Tanjiro can and is stronger than everyone else in a short time is explained in the manga. It's about lineage and sun breathing being passed down for hundreds of years in his family building the spirit of sun breathing into them. The creator uses God in an interesting way in the show and tbe bestowal of power. Breathing styles are strengthened in families by continuous use per generation. It's why Rengoku is so strong without a demon mark awakening, why tanjiro unlocked a mark, why the next one to unlock it was muichiro who is actually the youngest of the group, a direct descendant of koukoshibo.

ngl the first 4 episodes of Demon Slayer (season 1) were peak Demon Slayer. That whole arc with the Hand Demon was the best part of the series. Almost gave season 2 a try but then they lazily killed off Rengoku in the movie, all my chances of watching season 2 went down the drain after that.

Rengoku was not lazily killed off. He assisted a lot in the Mugen train, and after that he was forced to fight an upper rank demon. I wonder who’s going to win, one of the weakest hashira or upper moon 3? The point of Rengoku’s death was to inspire Tanjiro, and to show to the viewer that characters CAN and WILL die. In season 2, which is an absolute masterpiece for the record, Rengoku comes up a couple times and it can be argued that Rengoku is the reason Tanjiro fought so strongly next to Tengen. Swordsmith village served to introduce slayer marks, and push the story into the training and war arc. I’m not saying it was super good or anything, but everything serves a purpose.

Nothing felt earned in this season. The characters felt bland and underdeveloped and superficial. Nezuko was the worst character because she still doesn't have a character. Daki and Nakime are better characters than her. Her whole sun resistance felt forced and unearned. Just like her random powerup against Daki. Just plot armor. I felt nothing for Tanjiro when he was crying about Nezuko because he should have learned his lesson about not bringing his sister on these dangerous missions and not expecting anything to go wrong. Tanjiro nearly got a woman killed in Entertainment District because he brought Nezuko there. He deserved to suffer the consequences.
