I just wish kanroji had more screen time, she’s a very interesting fighting style with her whip sword and it would’ve been cool to watch her fight a bit longer. Like if it was like uzui vs gyutaro wand had longer wide shots it would be much better. Instead we get tanjiro chasing a rat for 30 minutes

Imagine how intestinal the season would have been if douma actually found the village somehow and instead of fighting the emotion guys for 3 episodes we would have seen gyokko being defeated way sooner and zohakuten coming out after 1 episode already. Ubuyashiki could have sent another hashira because he saw a disaster in the village with „foresight“ maybe obanai cause he also got sent the last time and came to late and he would have a great dinamic with like tanjiro and mitsuri. Also it would actually feel like a fight for pure survival like an upper moon should feel like. 2 upper moons(gyokko already being defeated prior to doumas arrival) vs 3 hashira, tanjiro, nezuko and genya. Over all i thought douma could arrive while tanjiro was hunting down Hantengu only for obanai and mitsuri to face him while leaving tanjiro and the rest with zohakuten to defeat him. Obanai and mitsuri would get absolutely tossed around barely holding their ground while same goes for tanjiro and the rest with zohakuten. Finally tokito would save tanjiro and sacrifice himself by taking over the fight against Zohakuten, knowing he will not be able to hold him off for long. Tanjiro saves mitsuri from douma only to get send away by obanai to find Hantengu. The hantengu story would proceed like it did anyways while tokito would sadly die in the fight against zohakuten while seeing the demon slowly fade away. Mitsuri and obanai would get deadly injured and poisoned while they get up one last time to face douma, he notices that the sun is already coming up and decides he has to leave. Mitsuri and obanai collapse into eachother while realizing how douma destroyed the whole village and killed 90% of the villager while fighting them. Mitsuri and obanai survive their injuries and are still remaining as hashira, while tanjiro actually get promoted to hashira along with zenitsu and inosuke. Rest pf the story proceeds as it is with the difference that genya takes on tokitos blade and decides to work hard on his technique to atleast be „useful the next time“ ultimately taking tokitos rule in the infinity castle arc

Honestly the last episode felt like the only on-par with the last seasons. I definitely agreed that this was less than I expected. Edit: but yeah that sunbreathing moment was on par with the first time he did it in season 1

I personally think the season was bad. First off, the pacing was bad. Everything happened so slow yet so fast at the same time. Secondly, the characters were lame. There was no attachment to them for me compared to Rengoku or Uzui. Thirdly, the plot was reallyyy messy. It felt like it didn't know what it wanted to be. Mitsuri was basically absent the entire arc and Muichiro was trapped in the water prison for three episodes straight. The fights were boring as well. It felt like there were no stakes and it seemed really easy to kill these demons. Finally, I HATE the ending. Nezuko is literally plot armor incarnate Overall, this season was so disappointing, the arc was underwhelming in the manga too. Mugen train & the entertainment district were so good man.

​@@thousandminusseven3889 To be fair, its hinted that the 6 demon was really around level 4...their difficulty doesn't just go up by a bit...it jumps by a lot. We saw a level 3 vs one harshira...and they weren't instantly bodied. The two demons fighting like the prior season would on the flip side be boring...people are mostly just angry cause the high of the prior season. That said the prior season got called out for too many cliff hangers and too many just fighting one demon...but other seasons got called out for being monster of the week so you cant really win. That said I think many manga have one weaker arc before their big one. They spend side time perfecting the plot of their big stuff. I think that's what happen with the next arc. The anime only will complain and drop but the final arc besides a few issues are emotional and fights are crazy...it might take a lot of time to make...its nonstop fights with big payoffs and their is no plot armor...i hate that word since a show without it day one would be boring too as most of the cast keeps dying and you just get bored. I think anime fans have outrageous expectations thou...anime has never been this good...consistently and all I hear is how everything is mid. You find that many overall are rating stuff 7/10 or 8 and watching the peak of the genre...were all just jaded.

yeah the pacing was terrible this season. it’s like ufotable made certain scenes stretch out longer than they needed to be because they were focused too much on trying to get unpredictable and random cliffhangers. at one moment in episode 6, it cut back to a scene of muichiro in the water pot and gyokko teasing him, but there was no action in those few seconds and it adding nothing to the plot. i was kind of annoyed because the episode was supposed to be focused on genya, and there was this useless scene that only existed to add more runtime to the episode. if they didn’t make that move i feel they also could’ve had some extra time to use a better cliffhanger like for example, zohakuten’s silhouette appearing behind tanjiro.

@@Davis9754 It's not that, its the fact they had to rush the season. The animation was great, but people expect so much, this was considered one of the least liked arcs so they of course want to focus on the big one coming out which has constant action. DS haters claim the show is trash and has no story etc but most of the twist are saved for the last part and animating it will take as much time as AOT final fight, but more since its back to back. Fans will hate this but I think they should do 5 eps and stop again then finish with 2 more seasons or 3. There is way too much to animate to do it normally. Unless they rush it. Fans wont like it but in the future someone binging will love consistent animation aka people love naruto after it is all finished or bleach as they can skip stuff that's slow or one piece, waiting 4 years for one piece to look DS good would be great on paper but awful.

IIRC the backstory comes in for the anime at the same time it does in the manga, so they are kind of boxed in if the point is to faithfully recreate the original material. Yeah, the final form of upper4 is the guy who beats on a drum, but thats whats in the books, so what are they gonna do? The sun halo dragon was frickin awesome.

Honestly, for me, the swordsmith village arc had mainly bad pacing. The cgi was mainly not good for when a 2d figure interacts with a 3d model. Like when muichiro cuts the fish being launched at him. Its not very good cgi. It doesnt look bad, but it definitely looked out of place. And honestly, muichiro cutting gyokko before his backstory could be shown was a blessing in disguise. I just wish the same applied to hantengu. I didnt really care about them, unlike daki and gyutaro. Plus, it was too packed of a season. There was too much going on.

I didnt like s3. It just didnt strike with me as much as s2. They got rid of characters we cared for (zenetsu and 🐗) and had genua and boob lady. People we didnt really care for, or at least i didnt. Especially genya. The villians i didnt like. They were unrelatable in the sense of their background (in the case where one of them actually had a background). But even the one that had a background was not only not likeable. But also unlikeable. And annoying af constantly running. And komodo trying to recreate his yelling scene from train movie when upper 3 was running away. I thought it was ded. Anyway as someone who loved all previous seasons despite friends telling me its trash anime, im afraid im going to have to agree with them if what i hear is true about the author rushing the manga. Ima watch the next season but if its just as ded then i got other things to do and anime to watch

S3 was phenomenal, it's just that the adaptation was awful, but the source material was better than ever. Unfortunately, even aside from the adaptation, this is the anime community, so they only care about flashy fights and "raw" characters and the like, so many of these kinds of people didn't appreciate the fantastic season. They don't actually pay any attention to the characters, themes, story or anything else really.

This arc was pretty disappointing in the manga too. Hantengu and Gyokko were pretty uninteresting to me, especially for upper rank demons. Although, I thought they adapted it as best they could. The infinity castle arc is gonna be INSAAANNEEEE though.
