Oh, for sure! I'm not a huge fan of elemental powers in general, being rather tempted by social abilities instead, but the freedom of motion coupled with the power to affect an entire city... yeah, can't pass that up 😋

So, kind of an embarrassing, yet interesting situation for me: I've been playing DTF for years, and I had thought I'd played alll of them, lores, at least a little bit, to get a good grasp of everything they can do. Turns out I've never played this one, and two others. Quite embarrassing, yet now I can brainstorm some fun ideas!

Not embarrassing at all, my friend! 😉 I've explored and experienced a lot of these Lores through the other players at my table (like the attentive, curious storyteller I am), their feedback and impressions, since, so far, I only got to play a Malefactor and a Devourer (as player). It's so difficult to find a Demon game to join these days, most people don't even get to play, let alone explore all of the abilities, the lore and various intricacies 🤗

Good video! It's great how you interpret them and give ideas on how to improve them! Anyway, I think it can be a little tricky to determine why torment can be given and why not. I think there can be a little freedom with those lores that are connected to forces that have a destructive effect in their natural state. So are the elemental lores and the lore of death. Fire burns something, whether it's lit to cook dinner or to burn a witch at the stake. Rivers overflow, the earth trembles, the wind can be raging so strong to twisting trees out of the ground, and death is the end of everything, which closes and starts the circle again. I have always been interested in how the demon and his power interact with other supernatural beings. Although why a demon can't take on his apocalyptic form around unbelievers is a little strange to me, since to be able to do it he has to have faith on his own and not take it from others there. Although demons and mages are the two opposite sides in the supernatural power spectrum. One's power comes from knowing exactly how things should work, and the world acts as it should. While the other rewrites the rules and things happen because that's what he wants. I always thought that the power of a lore should be superior than any other supernatural power that affects the same aspect of the world as the lore. Except mages. Of course, this depends on whether we consider that that certain aspect of the world just exists, or that it has some deeper connection with the being who created it and rather obeys him when two forces of equal strength but from opposite sources want to act on it. Or the mage is a mini god and god always wins.

I know, right? It is a little strange indeed, and I think this idea came more as an intentional design limitation so player characters don't just assume Apocalyptic Form on TV to "awaken" everyone to the existence of the supernatural. Of course, there's also the matter of quantity. Around one reasonably faithless mortal, the Fallen can just spend a Faith point and BAM, Apocalyptic Form just works. But if there's more of them, and their belief in a reality devoid of supernatural beings is so intense that it has a reality warping Resonance, a form of Quiet, to use Mage terms, which impacts their surroundings... I guess it does make sense. Even if Demons store Faith within themselves, they still depend on Faith taken from mortals, those who believe and "cultivate" the resource Demons crave. I see a complete absence of Faith as poison here, the same thing that gives Changelings Banality. Just my take though 🤔 "I always thought that the power of a lore should be superior than any other supernatural power that affects the same aspect of the world as the lore. Except mages." - Hard agree! If Mages had the necessary means, they'd be able to completely overwrite reality as created by the Fallen, influenced by various other supernaturals, and affected by the Consensus. Mages really are something else 😎😨It's no wonder Demons fear them

Very fun video! I remember doing math a while ago concerning this lore, and the earthbound mastery background, and the results were amusing. Also, do you have any plans to set up a patreon or something similar? It would be nice to help increase the channel's dots in resources.
