In this song, the Fiddler is the Grim Reaper (not sure if he plays golf or not...). Apparently there was a little boy that got hit by a car and killed while riding his bike in Hansi's (vocalist) hometown. Then a couple weeks later the same thing happened to a little girl. So he wrote this song about the Fiddler making a mistake taking the boy too early, so he went out and found the girl who would have grown up to marry him and asked her if she would come and stay with him for eternity. They have 2 more songs from this concert on YT (The Gunslinger and Crimson King - which are both from the Dark Tower) The band is a mix of Iced Earth and Blind Guardian. The drummer is Fredrick from Blind Guardian, the bass player is the rhythm guitarist from BG (Marcus), the rhythm guitarist is Jon Schaffer from Iced Earth and the lead guitarist is Jake Dreyer who was in Iced Earth at that time and is in Witherfall now.

Chuck I’ll bring my fiddle anywhere I damn well please! Demons & Wizards is a side project of Hansi the lead singer of Blind Guardian. They sadly are no longer a band but in this instance they did have the drummer and bass player from Blind Guardian play live with them. I think you’ll both enjoy the studio version of this song. It’s got a hauntingly beautiful acoustic guitar melody.

I realize this is 6 months old, but since you're not familiar and I don't see it directly addressed, I'll answer your "who is Demons & Wizards" question. Demons & Wizards was a side project of two people: The singer from Blind Guardian (Hansii Kursch) and the rhythm guitarist from Iced Earth (Jon Schaffer; the guitarist with the short gray hair). Rumor has it the name comes from them. Hansii is the Wizard, Jon is the Demon. They put out some terrific music, IMO. Blind Guardian and Iced Earth are the main bands for Hansii and Jon, respectively. Here's where it takes a darker turn with an abrupt end. Jon Schaffer was one of the people who stormed the capital on Jan 6. It won't take much digging to see a picture of him inside the capital. At that point, most (all?) of the members of Iced Earth quit the band. Hansii also quit Demons & Wizards at the same time. The label that published Iced Earth and Demons & Wizards also delisted the work. All the people are distancing themselves from Schaffer. So Demons & Wizards is no more. Iced Earth may exist, but in name only at this point. Last I'd heard, Schaffer hadn't received his sentence, but I stopped following the news story a while ago, so that information could be outdated.

Jon Schaeffers stupidity sadly was the end of Demons and Wizards! But this song will always be a classic for me as a Blind Guardian and Iced Earth fan for decades!
