What size alloy was the vehicle running? Also what spring was the car lowered on and would it have problems clearing those black/yellow speed bumps? Even with a splitter on the front?
@dodga1002 жыл бұрын
Probably a dumb question, but Does the lowering springs remove the DCC function of the car?
@DemonTweeksTV2 жыл бұрын
Not a dumb question at all 😊 it doesn’t cause a problem as you’re simply replacing the springs. DDC works the shock absorbers, so if using coilovers to lower the car, you can get ones that retain this functionality.

Brilliant. Once mine arrives I'll be sure to contact you guys for the mods.

@@DemonTweeksTV thanks! I’m in the US so fitment will be hard to do. But I’ll be ordering the parts from you. Do you have any recommendations for a shop in the Washington DC area?
@DemonTweeksTV2 жыл бұрын
That’s great! All of our prices are listed tax free and shipping to the US is no problem 👍 feel free to get in touch if you need any advice with parts etc. I’m afraid we don’t have a recommended garage/workshop in DC, but look out for somewhere that specialises in VAG group cars, particularly performance ones. Most of the parts we supply come with comprehensive fitting guides, so this won’t be a problem 😊

Do you know if this kit fits the wagon?

If it's like the mk7/7.5 then the front splitter will fit, but you'll likely need different side skirts and rear splitter. Hopefully Maxton will launch something soon :)

You guys got some rear valances? or other body styling stuff for the VW Beetle 2012's? looking for some cool stuff. Or know some other brands who still make parts?
@DemonTweeksTV2 жыл бұрын
Hey, we certainly do. Maxton offer a diffuser, prices start from £152.95 for the textured black, but they have other colours/finishes available. It looks pretty great too! It's not listed on our site, but we can sort it out for you. Please give our sales team a shout on sales@demon-tweeks.com or drop us a DM on our social channels @demontweeksperformance and our team will sort you out :)

Wait, was it just only the drop in K&N filter that made that swoosh or was there anything else done to the intake system?

We're working on another episode behind the scenes (this one was shot after) where we fit some Forge bits including dump valve ;)

Just curious how you guys claim an 18hp increase with adding the Milltech exhaust, while ThatHumbleMechanic also installed this same exact exhaust onto his MK8 Golf R, and saw a decrease in power in his recent video showcasing it? Even worse, this Milltech exhaust weighs more than the factory exhaust! What kind of marketing scams are happening here?

@@C0ACHMAYNE that doesn’t matter at all. The exhaust is the same, coming from the same engine

@@JacesOwnWorld yea I just re-watched it, maybe its that fact that humble has 2 wheels vs 4 wheels going on the dyno?
@DemonTweeksTV2 жыл бұрын
No marketing tricks here - we've been in the business for 50 years, so it's not in our interest to make figures up. We can only speak from our experience and our car saw a gain on the dyno, the only performance modification to happen between the runs was installing the Milltek system. Something to bear in mind is that our car is a UK car and was tested on a 4wd dyno. We've got a write up on our blog along with the dyno graphs.

I was wondering the exact same thing and would be shocked if a modern performance car left that much power on the table from the factory.

Thanks! The Mk8 is not to everyone's taste I suppose. You could probably get that bit wrapped to change the look a bit.

Where the rear spoiler updrade? And also a lot of taking and not a lot of showing the kit installed.

Hey, there's not an option available yet for the standard option. There's an extension available for factory spoiler, but this car was specced without this from the factory.

Are those Maxton parts even mildly functional outside of appearance?
@DemonTweeksTV2 жыл бұрын
It's mostly for the design and really helps make the car look like it's pushing the power that it does. We think the standard look of the R is a bit subdued!

@@Knapster4444 Awesome! glad to hear you're looking out for the next video. It should drop in the next couple of weeks. We've just fitted some Forge parts, so just waiting to get it back on the dyno for the results! You should be able to get the fake engine noise coded out, but for now you can set everything to sport or race within "individual" mode but turn the cabin sound effect off - Or at least that's the case on my personal MK7 Golf. The same should apply to the MK8
