I personally would never use the porch. Good concept though for some with larger families.

I see myself using that porch a lot! :). In nice weather, I’d be putting a bed out there and sleeping. But, yeah, it does look like a little bit of work to put up and tear down, so you’d have to plan to not break camp often when you do use it I guess.

It would be great if they could somehow design the tent system where you could close the back doors, for added security at night, or when leaving the vehicle to for for a bike ride or a water sport as I do. Not having that feature would preclude me from setting up the tent, which is a cool idea.

Yeah Jay, the tent is a cool option, but not for everyone. For those with that need ti fills sweet spot.

Yes- Embassy has some innovative ideas for storage, insulation, tanks. Great build out on the Ram. However, they lost me on the patio/tent. Unless it comes with the two strong guys for setup, I would not be interested. Also, it totally removes the “nimble” quality of the Class B. I wonder if many van campers are interested in that level of setup and breakdown? Thanks for the well-organized run-down on the features. You and Terry make a great team!

I really love the concept of the porch for extra living/working space while parked for awhile; but the setup looks like a lot for one person. I like that there's actually counter prep space in the kitchen - it's so lacking in most RVs I've looked at.

Trying to be patient for Terry to get the Transit build done and priced - but they are moving to a larger space just for the Class B builds. And probably working out a few kinks. The rear porch is a nice add to consider but would affect storing anything long in the corridor. Would only be accessible if the porch and tent are expanded.

I notice that Embassy is only producing "K" models of the RV. Do they have any plans of producing the "G" model ?

Not that I'm aware of on floor plans. However, you can get the "K" floor plan in your choice of chassis!

We'll be going to the Florida RV Supershow in January specifically to see the Embassy! I told them you were the one that made us do it! We DEFINITELY want to see you there... we will be there on the Saturday, and maybe that Friday late. Where will you have the meet and greet?? Be seeing you! (We hope!)

No wood? Seams nice but what about all chemicals sipping out of all that plastics which people will inhale when the van is hot, healthy? I do not know but I know I would not like to live in in a house made entirely from plastics. Any thoughts?

Great idea for a tent, but from the looks of it you need two people. What do you do if you are by yourself.

Two would be easier. But I’m told a single person can do it. The tent is optional so if it doesn’t fit your RV lifestyle it can be left off.

The insulation footage almost made me cry. Winnebago, are you listening?! How much space do you "lose" in order to store the back porch?

Yeah, I thought the same thing on the insulation. Can you feel the difference in walls and floor TGW where insulation is missing? I can. Travato has better than nothing, but room for improvement. Amazingly the porch takes up something like 6" in the back to store the whole thing. I might be off an inch or so, but the total space consumption is tiny for what one gets.

@@gosmall.livelarge I can definitely feel where its missing and if I look under my sink you can see a piece of insulation that was just sort of stuck in there that is falling down and you can see the metal van wall behind it. Winnebago really needs to do better. That porch is awesome, not sure how much I'd use it in the Walmart parking lot but... :-)

Setting up this backend porch/tent takes too long compared to a QuickSet Clamshell tent that one person can setup in a minute.

The canopy tent is just awesome but would not work very well with a lot of seniors, and a lot of handicap in impaired campers. Even the unit it is not really handicap friendly even though a lot of handicapped people would liked something like this it would be too expensive, and just not enough wiggle room inside. I would like to see more designs for a toy hauler interior, a lot of people who go camping are six foot to six foot seven, and this unit is just too short. Also would like to see a bathtub under a bed, a fiberglass bathtub would be at just awesome and then when not use during the daytime, have it for a storage bin. The toilet is great for a certain size person but if you're overweight or Too Tall, or handicapped the toilet room is just too small confinements. The RV World really hasn't opened up to a lot of handicapped impaired buyers North seniors who are getting up in age and need Simplicity we're less is more.

Hey RJM thx for input. I use black and white photo with green title to easily be spotted in a see of full color thumbs on a KZbin search. That said I use color for the cooking videos. Don’t want those to be scary!, instead want them looking yummy. Thx for watching and taking time to comment

Great video, I have a couple of questions, were do you store the rear door covers and stairs for back tent when your not using them? Also are the side window insulated? Thanks

Hi Kevin. The covers, tent and platform all fit between the rear cargo doors and the inside cabinetry. Pretty amazing! Window shades are insulated. I think Embassy is using the glass that comes with van chassis.

Interesting using metal, looks like it gives more storage space. Did not like the back porch, looks heavy, takes space for stairs and hand rail. Time to set up and tear down when van is main transportation. Would rather see rear doors used and a floor slide and roof awning used to extend van space when camping. Not sure about the insulation they used, would rather see foam spray and all metal surfaces covered, with all water piping protected from freezing for 4 season camping like they do with Euro Van's. Also more thought put into the van roof to cut down on wind drag and height, like under mount air conditioning with vents to the ceiling. With all this said #1 on my list for north American camper Van's is Euro pricing, why can they make such great looking Van's for half the price? Would love to see camper Van's starting prices at 50k like Europe 😀👍

A off beat question. How wide is the back wall, the foot end of the bed? Thinking a better placement for the t.v.?

Hi LIS... measurement is 26"x26" from the top of the bed when it is laid down to the bottom of the cabinet above the bed. Big enough to mount a small TV, probably. The trouble is the end of the matters is flush against the fridge cabinet wall, which would likely prevent one from raising or lowering the Murphy bed with a TV mounted in that space. Hope that helps.

We're planning to visit Embassy RV in April. After we saw them on your channel we've been intrigued so much so that Embassy RV has moved ahead of Travato into the top place on our RV wishlist. Wish we could go to Tampa in January, but nope. Thanks for all the work you put into this, Scott. So are you considering Embassy RV for your next rig? Or are you still 100% committed to Travato?

Hi Carol. For me and the way I use, work, and live in a van it boils down to floor plan. The G floor plan works best for me as a full-timer because of the dedicated dinette and bed. I do like so many of the things that Embassy is doing it is a tough decision. For a week long trip or something like that the Embassy RV zooms to the top of my list probably. Love their no wood buildout and the modern color scheme to.
