I would really appreciate if you could show video of the demos, instead of just individual screenshots, also more information on why some of the demos are notable.

i hear you and it's in my plans but there are a couple of counterparts to both of those requests, which is what has been holding me back. for the videos: playing the youtube capture sometimes annoys people because of re-encoding and bad quality (also sometimes takes a few seconds buffering, which ruins the take and the alternative is to download it and do extra editing work), the alternative of doing original captures also takes extra work (especially for esoteric platforms) and could still not satisfy the original creators if not done right, then there is the issue of copyright, playing excerpts would just fall in fair use for commentary, but it would still be flagged by the contentid system and demonetize the video for me, which is not monetizing much as it is (demoscene isn't a very ad friendly market) but without more patreon supporters i'll take all the cents i can get through youtube ads when possible to keep this regular reporting venture minimally sustainable. about the information on some of the demos, i try to give as much context as possible, especially when i know the backstory and it's for something other then the usual systems, but within a week is kinda hard to know the backstory of all the things released, especially since most of them are released at a demoparty a couple days before and sometimes not even the binaries are available yet, so i can only inform as much as i already know and some tech aspects just pass me by without having chatted with the authors or a platform aspect this week about them; then there is the issue of video length, if i talk more about every single entry, the video length doubles, and anything higher then 15 mins doesn't fare as well in terms of people watching it to the end and it getting recommended to others, which was one of the reasons i went down to weekly reports instead of monthly/biweekly, to try to keep the videos shorter and more interesting. but i do try to give a little more insight on some particular entry that i know some info about. and feel free to ping me asking why certain things are particularly interesting and i can try to do a follow up (more indepth) video about that later on.
