My favorite Ethiopian musician so far is Mikiyas Chernet....he sings, he doesn't rap and I don't understand any of his songs except a little of one of his old songs "Same Largesh" which has a little bit of English in it. Why is it so hard to get an Amharic translator app? I have tried several apps, google translator, and several other online "translators," but they are all useless - I have to type in the Amharic characters in order to get a translation, which is dumb for those of us who do not know the language - I mean, seriously, if I don't know how to speak Amharic, then the likelihood of me knowing the characters to form words is slim to none. I need an app that will allow me to type in the English characters for Amharic words so that it can translate the words to English. As of now, I can't even get a translation for the TITLES of his songs because when I type in the titles and select Amharic, the app switches over to either Japanese, French, or some other language. I have been listening to Ethiopian music since 2015...before long I am going to start making up my own words... :( (real tears).

There is an app for an Amharic keyboard. It allows you to type in English but the Amharic characters appear. Then you could copy and paste into a translator site. I know this may be a bit much but I thought I'd share with you just in case.
