Grateful for your taking us on a mysterious and wonderful walk. Yes you could spend a week documenting or a month. The details tell the stories, every doorknob has its own. The hand placed stones in every arch were not blind.

The North Wales Hospital (locally known as Denbigh Mental or Denbigh Asylum)[1] is a Grade II listed building. Designed by architect Thomas Fulljames, building started in 1844 and completed in 1848. Once a hospital for up to 200 people with psychiatric illnesses, by the early 1900's it housed around 1,500 patients and staff. It is located in Denbigh, Denbighshire, Wales. Renovations were started in 2008 but were halted by arson. since 2011 several efforts have been made to track it for conversion to apartments which should still press ahead relatively soon. Well over $1mil in repairs have already been put into the property.

Absolutely amazing video! Just seeing the place again even as derelict as it is brought back memories.I know it was a "mental institution "but some good people worked there and when you see them now they always say they were the good ol days! But as with everything it has to end,you are right to be able to go there and document each and every area would preserve those memories. Nice one Jason.

Enjoyed this so much. Very dangerous places to shoot, as anything could happen. Happy to see it photographed for history purposes. We have so many stunning buildings here in the UK that have been left to rot...such a waste of beautiful buildings. Thank you Jason.

It was this place or your home and Jason wanted to keep it civilized, so this what it is. ;-)

The local news for North East Wales this morning reports that one of the main buildings roof has collapsed!Jason you were right to say that extra care needs to be taken when exploring areas like this as the dangers are ever present.I think I was very lucky to have seen the place in its heyday(I work for the ambulance service and used to take patients there). You might be one of the last people to have visited the site as security has been stepped up so access now is very very difficult.

Can't believe you missed the mortuary, you were right by it. Also, underneath is a great explore with a camera. It's sister asylum is near too, also empty and decaying. Take a look when you're next on our shores.

Jason, You may be the last of a few to document this amazing institution. In a world of where we're trying to recycle/up cycle how can a place like this be left in ruins?

Sheer cost of renovation vs value I suppose, I have not checked but seems like it may be fairly remote. Such a shame to see such a beautiful building in this state though

I see building materials from differing eras, like some plaster walls, some drywall, and some hollow core doors. It appears to have been originally built a long time ago and still used relatively recently. From the outside, it looks like it would be a fabulous set of buildings to fully restore, but from the inside it looks like the structural engineers would have a lot of work to do to get that place up to code.

We have something similar here in the States called Letchworth Village (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Letchworth_Village). It is expansive like this one but much more creepy because of all the reported cases of abuse and the fact that the "residents" where buried in unmarked graves when they died.

Ah, you got caught by the infamous Elwyn. It's nice to see footage of him being nice. Do you let followers join you on these explorations? I've been here multiple times and would love to join someone of your experience. Do you plan on coming back here or the sister hospital, Pool Park in Ruthin? Thanks.

This question has nothing to do with this video... but anyway I'll ask it... I have watched almost all your videos trying to figure something out... how do you get sharp photos at a wedding ceremony or reception when using long focal length lenses and speed lights? When I trigger my speed lights from far away my images are horrible and I don't know how to fix that... can you help me with that?

Elwyn isn't security just a local nosey fella takes it on himself to patrol the place. The police patrol this place frequently now due to the huge amount of visitor's..
