Yeah I really like his forehand technique: the way that he turns his shoulders and hips before contact is pretty solid.
@KeyofDavid57782 жыл бұрын
@@yakzivz1104 I completely disagree you can say hello to his racket face that he strikes the ball with as it faces the The Back Fence and now he has to get the the racket face all the way around to the contact point. The timing of doing that is incredibly difficult unless you're super highly talented and a super athlete. Djokovic's forehand is way less complicated. No wonder the guy is so inconsistent now the backhand side is way more Compact and consistent. Just my opinion of 40 years coach in tennis and working with my top player who was in the top 80 in the world.

@bobbyearles42302 жыл бұрын
@@KeyofDavid5778 I agree with your sentiments about the racquet face. It's a long and complicated shot for sure. Most players couldn't pull it off. That said, I agree with Yakziv's comment re Shapo's unit turn. He is very intentional about squaring himself to the ball. And he rotates his shoulders so thoroughly, he's almost showing you his back on the forehand side. He's able to harness that movement to create extreme racquet head speed. So while I agree that it's a complicated set of mechanics, it's very beautiful to watch, and when he connects, creates colossal spin and power. I hope he can put it all together to go on a deep run at the US Open and some other slams. Great player to watch.

Thanks for the kind words - same to you. Not exactly exerting a lot of effort on my part though to get out of the house on a weekend to watch pros hit. I'd be doing this and shooting these vids anyway just for myself personally. All fun to me. You should head out to IW one of these days. Too much good stuff going on and I can't cover 19 practice courts at the same time.

1hbh, only way to go, too many players cannot handle a 1hbh, the 2hbh and the baseline go hand in hand now, it's easier to learn and yet its so inferior to the 1hbh.

Not sure they would bother to annually resurface the outside practice courts for the tournament (as opposed to the match courts, which they obviously do before the tournament). Perhaps they do, I don't know.

It is a nice tournament if you don't mind the heat and humidity, on all but the main court you can get close to the players. They have a bunch of clay courts as well, which they use for equipment storage during the tournament.
