I consider the thoughtfulness of finding parallels with Michael Corleone much more important than the monster design of Shai-Hulud. Still, this is a visual medium and attention to detail is something we expect as well. My hope is that we will receive a deep, rich story first, which, secondarily, will be a visual banquet.

I love Dune reading the novels growing up. But I worry it's going to bomb at the box office as its story and plot is just too complicated for the general audience who are used to formumatic super hero movies...

Exactly how much design change do you anticipate in a glove ffs? Form in this case, follows function. Gloves have not changed appreciably in the last few hundred years.

@@catzkeet4860 Exactly, plus the moving picture is not going to be a still image for an hour, there will be scenes with movement story dialogue, you wont notice glove design in the movie as you might in a still photo.
