Excellent video! Polygel has been a lifesaver for me too!! I’ve managed to knock both of my my big toenails off multiple times over the years. They’ve both grown back about halfway over the last two years. Sooo slow! Polygel stays on for months! I use a dehydrator, a primer and a gel base before I apply my polygel. I maintain it, fill it every month and I swear by it!! I build them with Modelones or Beetles polygel with no dual forms and they’re perfect every time. 70% alcohol works perfectly instead of slip solution too.

This is brilliant. 10 years ago I used to work in my dad's janitorial company and I dropped a steal trashcan on my toenail one night. It damaged my toenail so bad that it lifted and caught on things. I clipped away all the loose toenail which meant I only had 1/4th of my toenail left. It grew back after several months but I wish so bad that I would have had this to carry me through.

working the ER tonight, we had a lady come in with her toe crushed from her horse stepping on her. She will lose the nail for sure, as it was very loose. But she had a great sense of humor about the whole thing, and I suppose her nail will grow back one day. I like watching these things because I have such a terrible habit of biting my fingernails so badly that they might as well be missing. A lot of whatever product I'm using winds up on my skin. Just wanted to pop by and say thank you! My big toe nail is slowly growing back after losing it twice in 3 years to trauma! I live in Canada but managed to get a polygel kit with lamp from Amazon and your tutorials have helped me sculpt a pretty convincing nail! I'm a swimmer but pools are closed so haven't been able to test how it holds up in water but typically it stays on very well (I don't even use a bonding agent). I like to remove it every 2-3 weeks and check that the new nail growth is staying healthy. Thanks again🖤

Thank you so very much for taking the time and effort to make such a thoughtful, thorough, and helpful video!! Years ago I had an infected ingrown toenail on my left great toe. The podiatrist assured me that if he removed just a tiny amount of the matrix from the problem side, I would never get an ingrown nail again. And I didn’t. He also assured me that the amount of matrix he would scrape off would be so minute that my nail would look “totally normal” as it grew back....It definitely did not! It is maybe 3/4 the width it used to be and looks completely different than the nail on my right great toe. So for years I’ve used double-sided sticky carpet tape on the Kiss brand press-on toenails. I don’t like to use glue, since it seems to remove a thin layer of my own nail and causes damage when the press-ons comes off. I apply them to both big toes so I have matching nails, and after I paint them the same color as the rest of my toes they look pretty good. The press-on nails are always a bit “lifted” though because of the thick tape, and there is always a bit of a gap at the cuticle/base of nail. After discovering your video I am so excited to try your poly gel method!! They look amazing and SO realistic!

Now you don’t have to use that thick tape . If your real toenails have any kind of thickness , file them down thin , then apply your polygel . They will look great !! Let me know how it works out .

You can use eyelash glue if you don't have time to do this method. That's what I've been using until I can get the stuff needed to do this. Grabbed a cheap set and pop them on while I'll be in public.

I have very little toenail on one foot and the other big toenail is not so great looking, both from ingrown toenails the one had the sides removed but it's tender after all these years and I have acrylic on both now and they are painless at this point, I want to try poly gel as it is easier to remove and easier looking to apply! Your videos are so helpful. I am having a hard time getting the poly gel to stay on my toes. I have both big toenails removed, same as you. Do I need bonder? I only used mail prep dehydrator and then a base coat, which I cannot get to completely dry. Also, I used regular nail polish on them, do I have to use poly gel polish?

me too they always seem to end up coming off as it’s just skin there, especially when i’m sleeping they pop off. assuming it’s because theres no remaining nail whatsoever for the polygel to bond to the base coat on the skin!

Thank you so much for this! I got a sliver of my toenail removed years ago. They applied a solution that was supposed to not get that sliver to grow back and grow into my skin, but somehow got into the total nail and part of it fell off and it just has never grown back. It's embarrassing and stick-on nails don't stay. Vacations, swimming pool visits, and shows with my band with open shoes have always been hard and scary. I'm going to try this asap!

What’s the long term effects from doing this? I have one nail that just doesn’t grow and if it does it doesn’t stay attached to my nail bed, so I cut it off and wait for regrowth just for it to happen again. I’d love to have beautiful summer toes again!!

Thanks so much for this instructional video. You mentioned that you could place a second layer of polygel. Does the second layer of gel adhere to the bottom one after curing? If doing a second layer, do you need bonding primer between layers? Trying to grow a broken nail and wear sandals with this method.

You can also do this without the forms. I do my big and second toe on my right foot. Ingrown toenail removal left those two toes looking dank. Lol The polygel is so easy to work with. I just place a small amount on my toenail and shape it. The slip solution allows it to stay exactly where you want it. I cure, buff, shape a little more if necessary and polish. The whole pedi takes about 25 minutes.

I would like 2try polygel on all 10 toes. but I have 2 toe nails that curve up kind of when they grow. Do you think I can work with the polygel on those toenails?

You would need to cut and file those toenails flat .

Mine just pops off after a while because I don’t have any toenails, but I usually get about 2 to 6 weeks wear . For other people it varies if you have a very small nail bed that has shrunk up. It probably won’t stay long.

Can adhesive tabs with press on nails be used on bigtoe with no nails?

You could but that is very temporary . You may get a day wear if your lucky .

I’m so happy I came across your videos. I haven’t been able to wear open toe shoes for years because due to hitting my toes against things my nails became damaged over time. I’ve dreamt about being able to wear sandals and maybe now I will have that chance. I look forward to creating my nails and start wearing sandals this summer. Thank you so much for sharing. What do you mean ? The forms and polygels can be used on all nails , toenails and fingernails . I use it on my toes to make big toenails because I don’t have any nails on them . When I use it on my toe nail skin there is always a risk for a allergy , but I choose to take the risk . No allergic reaction yet .
