They had a swedish songwriter on this, so I get what you mean hehe. I love it, this could qualify unless after loreen people are more into fun/quirky bops this year or there are too many female performers in that semi and they are bount to be compared and someone unfortunately has to miss out. 2nd place overall was Basim. He had a really good song with a good story/ message, and he really had the crowd, and he was my tie for winning with her.

Denmark could honestly qualify this year. Saba has the personality to give it some oomph and the staging can always be elevated! I noticed you didnt react to the live version!

I loved Basim too but I'm hoping he might give Saba some confidence lessons because honestly what she needs more than anything is some confidence in her self ❤️ She seems like an amazing person too, a queer mental health advocate, I don't think we could send a more worthy person!

I was watching both Eesti laul and Dansk MGP simultaneously, luckily the performances didn’t overlap too much. Highlight of the night was seeing Fyr & Flamme being interviewed - they inspired me to learn Danish a couple of years back. ❤ Saba was my 3rd of the night in Denmark, I quite like it. And as you also said, I thought instantly that it sounded very, very Swedish. 😂 My 2nd was Basim - it would have been fun to see him represent Denmark again after ten years. I felt his song this year was like a sequel to his previous entry. Personally my winner yesterday was ”Planetary Hearts” by Ublu but it didn’t even make to the super final. I was a bit dissappointed that none of the songs were in Danish, though.

This song is a grower. Her voice is incredible, I love her charisma and the way she connects with the camera, her performance is so endearing, the song has a pleasant chorus but it is a little bit of an anticlimax, the production is solid, the lyrics are solid if cliche, the piano intro is good, the hook is cool, the staging is ok with how it looked like in the selection but it will definitely be heavily elevated in ESC and the instrumental is solid and has a decent power to it. It is a grower, I didn’t love it initially because it is kinda mid and boring but I like it much more listening to it a few more times. It is solid but nothing groundbreaking. After last year sending someone with a similar song in terms of its genericness it is still following this pattern but her vocals are much objectively stronger than Reiley’s so this could make it with elevated staging but I am not betting on it. It is a 6/10 for me.

I watched the DMGP Final on Saturday evening. In my opinion,Saba's voice was nowhere near strong enough in the first verse. Thankfully it was considerably stronger in the chorus. During the live DMGP 2024 Final performance of "Sand", there was a variety of different lighting effects in different parts of the song, including the yellow-orange static lights in the first verse, and the moving white light beams (with some bursts of strobe lighting) in the choruses. I liked the narrow white beams which formed a fan effect in the bridge. Not a bad song, but based on the DMGP 2024 Final performance, I think this is one to be valued more for being the multi-style light show, that viewers saw, rather than the song itself.

Well, I completely disagree here. Sweden is Eurovision's top 1 country - I love our Neighbors💙🇸🇪 🏼 But this is Danish, but a touch of Swedish profonalism, but it is very Danish, ig that correctly, it writes and produces both top Danish and Swedish songs. What you see this year is that Denmark has taken Eurovision seriously - and therefore you now taste Danish music, when it is well here appropriated to Eurovision - and of course also with respect to our beloved neighbors Sweden, which holds Eurovision in Malmö arena - it is actually only 1/2 hour's drive from Copenhagen, whereas Stockholm is 7-8 hours from Malmö. So of course we have to send a fantastic number as a gesture to Sweden🇸🇪💙🇩🇰♥️🇪🇺

IMO: Weak singer? No. Very nervous because this was her literal debut as a solo singer? Very much so. She's a good singer alright. She just needs more confidence. A lot more confidence

She sings very well. This is her debutsingle and the first time she sings live for a big crowd. She needs more experience. I hope she'll get rid of the nerves before the final.
