It's my first comment on youtube since ever. I'm 24 yo. I suffer depression and anxiety. I go to a psycologist every week since 2 years. I have tons of problem with relations. I'm literally at that point I prefer to avoid instead of living things. Avoiding feelings, avoiding relations, avoiding doing stuff and sleeping instead, avoiding family. In this hard period of my life there was a girl. That I really liked. It took me 2 years just to understand that. That was a genuine feeling. Like my eyes were literally shining whenever I saw her. And I was avoiding that as well. One day I woke up with a thought in my mind. I really wanted to ask her out. And that was eating me inside because I couldn't. Literally I couldn't. I couldn't ask her out, and I couldn't stop thinkin about it as well, because that was a genuine feeling. I really wanted that. And after years of avoiding stuff I really couldn't even imagine doing that because I was too afraid as well. Later that day I heard this song on the radio. When the motivational speech end, I got chills and cried. Then I couldn't stop to think about that speech (effect of anxiethy as well): "I wish I spent more time with people I love". And then like everything went togheter. I asked her out. I got a no, but I faced her, and faced it. My feeling is still real. Even if i got a no. And I am happy as hell. I will not avoid anything in my life anymore. I want to be happy and spend time with people I love, before it's too late.

Yes the cat hurt the bird just like Dennis hurt his ex. Yet both of them still reminisce about the good and the bad of the relationship. These memories don’t just fade and even while she is with someone new she still pets the cat reminiscing on her love for Dennis. Just like how Dennis is reminiscing about her in the last scene smoking with a one night stand. Relationships hurt and getting over them is hard but they shape us into who we are.
