Dennis Prager, Host, Dennis Prager Show
Hillsdale College is an independent institution of higher learning founded in 1844 by men and women “grateful to God for the inestimable blessings” resulting from civil and religious liberty and “believing that the diffusion of learning is essential to the perpetuity of these blessings.” It pursues the stated object of the founders: “to furnish all persons who wish, irrespective of nation, color, or sex, a literary, scientific, [and] theological education” outstanding among American colleges “and to combine with this such moral and social instruction as will best develop the minds and improve the hearts of its pupils.” As a nonsectarian Christian institution, Hillsdale College maintains “by precept and example” the immemorial teachings and practices of the Christian faith.
The College also considers itself a trustee of our Western philosophical and theological inheritance tracing to Athens and Jerusalem, a heritage finding its clearest expression in the American experiment of self-government under law.
By training the young in the liberal arts, Hillsdale College prepares students to become leaders worthy of that legacy. By encouraging the scholarship of its faculty, it contributes to the preservation of that legacy for future generations. By publicly defending that legacy, it enlists the aid of other friends of free civilization and thus secures the conditions of its own survival and independence.

It just crossed my mind how long it has been .... I pledged Allegiance to the flag of United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands one nation under God indivisible with liberty and Justice for All. I used to recite that 5 days a week and never gave it much thought but today and recently I give it a lot more thought than I used to and it means a whole lot more to me than it used to hope it means alot to you

I’m a millennial that often gets into arguments about where millennials went wrong. Many people point to boomers, and for the longest time I felt they were correct. In retrospect, I was in error. It wasn’t the boomers that went off the rails with Gen X, it was the greatest generation that failed the boomers. I, like many, held the greatest generation in awe. My great-grandfather gave his life in northern France fighting the Nazis. Many of my great-grandparent’s cousins, brothers, and uncles fought, bled, and died in the war. They told me and my brothers about how hard the depression was, what people had to do to survive. My grandmother’s father worked for a dime an hour carrying coal miles and miles to deliver to homes. Imagine it, carry 100 pounds of coal for 10 miles a day. I thought they were supermen and superwomen. But they were not perfect. They desperately wanted their kids to never have to die fighting or carrying coal for a living. So they spoiled them. They didn’t want to make any impositions on their kids. Go to church? Only if you want to. I’ll buy you whatever you want. Work as a kid to help the family? Nah, enjoy yourself. That likely seemed very noble. But it planted the seeds of what we’ve got now. My own children work around the house to learn a work ethic. They go to church as long as they live in my home. My wife and I do everything we can to instill our values in them. I pray it is enough to prepare them, because the way it is going, they will face challenges not seen in this country for almost 75 years.

Prager is a Jew. I'm a Christian, I agree on all of itbut unconditional love. He might say you can dislike your children. The "clarity" he seeks in debate is that I believe you can be annoyed by your children and still love them without the slightest contradiction. Ideally, we can do similarly with others. I agree about "earning" respect and admiration; not love.

Unconditional love isn’t altogether possible among humans. We love but often with demands. Even with our spouse or children. God loves unconditionally, and that becomes our highest goal: to love one another the way God loves us.

@Nicolq Roberts I am also British and live on the Wirral. My sister and brother-in-law live in Surrey. The increasing polarisation of British politics is now very apparent was clearly demonstrated by the recent MEP elections. This is increasingly becoming a North/ South divide. There are obviously many individual anomalies (you are one), but the general populations of London and the Home counties really are now living in an alternative universe to the rest of the UK. This is personally brought home to me starkly whenever my sister's family visits me here in the NW of England. They are staunch Remainers, and very much part of that group that is colloquially referred to as "the chattering classes". I am the opposite. We have agreed to stay off the subject of politics because the ideological divide between us has become so enormous it always descends into unpleasantness. That is the way of the world at the moment. The ideals of the modern left are now unequivocally that of the far left. Frightening and sad.

I recall Churchill's Britain, even Thatcher. I hope that your Emerald Isle, as Shakespeare called it, finds its way back again. If westerners "are depressed sad and feel hopeless and helpless at what's going on" the ideological enemies win. There is a lot wrong, but the true goal is to find out what are the alternatives to combat this. There are some terrific books that provide ammunition: Viktor Frankl (Man's Search for Meaning),Paul Johnson (English historian), Ayn Rand, Thomas Sowell, and many others. It's vital to identify the problems and more vital to find alternative solutions. This gives us rich inner resources to carry on.

The scene was set for Abram’s choosing during the time of Melchizedek. His actions of loyalty , trustworthiness and chivalry during this time was one that was greatly appreciated by God. There is much more to add yet for the sake of not writing an essay in the comments I’ll leave it here.

On this subject, I heartily recommend a track I discovered by accident (it appeared in my 'recommended' feed) by a British band called UNIT. The track is A Tribute To The Israeli Defence Force and it is excellent - tuneful and forceful without being bombastic combined with a lovely lyric. I know next to nothing about the group but on investigation I see they've recorded a whole batch of Jewish related tracks such as Pesach, Yom Kippur, Bar Mitzvah, Israel Is Real, The 613 Mitzvot and probably others I don’t know about yet. Some of them feature Rabbi Moshe Bryski which is definitely a recommendation in itself.

Clearly the rise of wisdom and philosophers hasn't yet extinct, but can rarely be seen as. The more wiser we are, the further towards our path of Glory and Victory! a famous quote from the bible inspired by David, "Say on, Dennis. Say on".

If only this talk could be heard by everyone here in the UK. In Britain the cancer of leftism and political correctness - feminism, multi-culturalism, homosexual and trans-rights, aggressive secularism - has left my country in intensive care.

Censorship and youth are all the current left has at this moment. Still, we should be more optimistic about this strong emerging tide of conservative values beginning on the internet, in spite of the obstacles.

Brandon Roberts conservative values =Bombing children overseas (in a Christian sort of way) , being the worst examples of followers of Christ openly and repulsing decent people who might otherwise be introduced to a Christ that conservatives use as nothing more than a tax shelter. War, war, and more war is the way of the conservative. Power over the powerless is their MO. Possibly the furthest thing from Christ's teachings z., he said MANY WILL COME IN MY NAME. And here is Dennis Pragerwitz, shortened to Prager . He is a Zionist. A fake proud nationalist whose loyalty lies with the status quo of sending all money and power to the already wealthy and maintaining the status quo. Evil to the core. As fake as batman, and opposed to Christmas and all things good and decent,

UnderStructureRepair I used to believe things like that, until I truly learned the meaning behind the story of Cain and Able. You are Cain. As ignorant and arrogant as he always has been. You've hardly if ever heard the Bible and have hardly if ever humbled yourself to challenge your beliefs. At least more than one single time during your youth when you fell into these bogus bogus bogus beliefs like I once did as well.

Brandon Roberts what beliefs have I fallen into? How do you know my beliefs? I'm asking for real. Maybe I shared my beliefs in another thread. Hers my beliefs and I do change my mind constantly. I don't ink anything like I did in 2010. My believes are these. I believe in a Loving Christ that hates the violent man. I hate Steve Mnuchin, Elliot Abrams and John Bolton . I hate the wars of aggression for oil and dominance formthe ultra wealthy. I think the Clinton s are murders. We have not been told the truth about 911 or the Boston bombing. Now, are you able to change your mind ? It's difficult, but critical to growth. There are people , here in Tennessee, that were born into church and think they were born saved. They are truly horrible people. When I lived here before I was 19, I used to think that the stupid little people were kinda cute. Now Fox News has them filled with opinions and that are armed. The media is there to divide us. And Prager is owned by two fracking billionaires. So, you side with the opinions of the two billionaires? Lastly, I can see where you'd consider me arrogant. I try not to be. But Cain killed. I'm 60 and hope to make it to the grave having only an abortion to answer for in terms of that commandment. By the way, I hate both parties. My choice for president is Tulsi Gabbard.

UnderStructureRepair You had just told me many of your beliefs.. And I agree that the type of people you described do exist, but they are more accurately described as sinners than conservatives. Arrogance has created today's ignorance of conservative values. There are hawks on both sides just as you know. The things you say are just as much propaganda as anything else. I highly recommend you look into Jordan Peterson if you haven't before. His biblical series helped me see things properly.
