Prager is a treasure. So glad kids like this are continuing to learn great conservative values. I hope the kid that asked the dual citizenship question can learn more about conservative ideas and values before asking more nonsense questions.

It's a fallacy to compare the risk of failed marriage to an auto accident. The divorce rate is over 50% in America; the risk of getting in an auto accident is de minimis. The large failure rate, inequitable divorce courts, the adverse impact on children born of the marriage, the economic costs (divorce makes you poorer) make marriage a far riskier proposition than the prospect of being in an auto accident which, by most accounts, is not even 1%. Perhaps a better analogy is starting a business, where the failure rate is greater than 50%, especially within the first 2 to 5 years.

Why doesn’t that affect Asians ?

U ignore the positive points he makes regarding marriage and only focus on negative aspects if a divorce occurs. The harm to individuals and society of never marrying could, one may argue, be more damaging than the risk involved of divorce.

@@rdf098311 Thanks for your reply; the issue, however, isn't positive points; it's the percentage risk/odds of failure. The risks of marriage are more aligned with the risks of starting a business than with getting into an auto accident. An accident shouldn't preclude the reasonable person from driving again, because the odds of having another accident are de minimis; in contrast, the odds of marriage failure are much greater, and should therefore give an individual pause; as with going into business, you need to be very careful regarding whom you're marrying.

@@kennethmeeker6369 Thanks for your reply; it's a great point, but it also misses the point, because even Asian failed marriages are a greater percentage than the odds of getting into an auto accident, which is de minimis. Prager himself has been divorced several times, likely a higher percentage than the number of times he's been in an auto accident. All I'm saying is he needs to choose an apt analogy, because comparing marriage failures, which are common, to auto accidents, which are uncommon, sends a misleading message that the gravity of a marriage failure isn't as great as the gravity of an auto accident; we get in the car again because the prospect of being in another accident is de minimis; we might avoid marriage or remarriage because the odds of failure are high an the consequences compelling; that's why a better analogy would be of marriage to starting a business, both of which have similar percentages of failure and success; for both, you need to be very careful who you're getting "into business with," that you have sufficient capitalization, etc.
