Thanks for the video. I've been flying helicopters for more many years and have no idea how to set this Turnigy for a Beta Flight which considers pitch channel as Aux2 in heli mode, and I couldn't figure out how to detach the pitch channel value from the left stick. This method is really clever. Thanks again.

nice video..i have not tried it yet cause i only fly fixed wing..now im building my1st apm 2.5 quad and my 1st mini 250 with a cc3d..im using flysky china 9x..have the taranis but its still in the box for almost 6 months now :)..my time has been eaten up by my job and holiday season..your video's are a nice reference for my new projects..thanks for posting such informative,straight forward on how "to" videos..

Hi Dennis, Ivor here great Turnigy set up vid. Finally got my cable for radio calibration. Have set up my radio as per your flight mode setup video. I have to say your videos are the best, clear and concise. Trying to run Mission Planner on Mac via Boot camp, will see how that goes. Re making up a cable I didn't bother, easy and cheap to get on ebay. Do you have RTL set on rear LHS switch?

Hello Dennis, I bought a Turnigy 9x and I want to know if I can use it with the cc3d? This because I noticed that the 9x tr/rx is pwm, but the tx shows ppm. A bit confusing. Hopefully you can tell me more about this.

Great video Dennis. Always enjoy and get lots of info from your videos. I was able to set up my Turnigy 9X F. Mode (3 pos sw) per your instructions. I am using a CC3d FC. In mix1 I used dnrate = 046, mix2 008 and mix3 -030. This put it right in the middle of the flight mode channel values. I would be interested in knowing how you were able to figure out to use master=GYR and slave=FLP. Is this documented somewhere? Or are you a genius? Would appreciate any info you can share.

Hi! Well not having channel 5 connected is a function of your TX/RX. So just make sure you have your autopilot properly connected to CH6 on your receiver. And make sure it's connected to the proper port on your autopilot that is responsible for setting the flight modes. I hope that makes sense and good luck!

Bruno, it may be the way the templates are setup on the FlySky. I've never flown with it so I'm not sure about it. Perhaps check and see if there are any other heli templates you can work with. Otherwise, is there an ACRO flight mode that you can work with?

Dennis thanks for the vids you've posted. Quick question I'm hoping you or someone else might know. Followed through the process for setting up the flight modes, but I can't get the pwm value to change when varying the uprate and downrate of the Gear switch/3 mode switch. When flipping the switch I jump from 1051 to 19xx. Any clue on why this might not be happening?

neil collins It's been quite some time since I've picked up my Turnigy 9X but my first guess would be to check your throttle curve in heli vs acro mode. Perhaps that's the culprit.

Dennis, When I setup the 9x on the f450 quadcopter (naza m lite), it seems to not be giving it enough throttle and will not take off. Sort of like if it was too heavy. Just barely lifting at full throttle. When I switch back to the old transmitter, it fly's fine and strong. My flight mode switch works ok. It seems like it is something in the transmitter setting doing this. like something is limiting throttle to be 100% although throttle shows as 100% in the naza stick calibration..What setting do you think it could be on my 9X? D Tragic I would definitely check your endpoints. I think you're right, that there's a limit at the TX config. Especially if your old TX works just find. Check the throttle curve and endpoints. Surely it's something in there. Good luck and let us know what you find out.

***** A Turnigy 9X will work fine, but I really enjoy the Taranis for its ease of configuration. When it comes to mini quad or quads for filming it's more of an issue getting you gains setup properly to match the size quad you're flying.

+David Latham Heli does have some different configuration settings like where the pitch trim follows the throttle if I recall correctly. Also I'd make sure your throttle curve is the same on heli before you make the switch. I switched from HELI to ACRO and never looked back, but now am flying with Taranis.

I'm sorry but I sure don't. If I end up getting a MultiWii Pro I'll definitely look into it and let you know. I'm assuming it's similar to the MultiWii where you can figure it in the MultiWii GUI and your receiver connected to the Aux port on the board.

I played with Heli mode and a throttle curve for my multirotors. But always went back to a linear straight line for throttle. Not sure if the experts even use a throttle curve. Good question. I am capable, but noooo expert. What are your thoughts on a throttle curve for the multirotors.

I've always used a linear curve for my throttle. I know there are 3D guys that use curves, but I'm nowhere near that level of expertise. So linear has always worked well for my application.

If I recall it's built into the heli mode settings. Have you tried ACRO? That should unlink the two.

hey i just bought this product and my rudder/yaw dose not present middle while its stick is in middle position its having constantly spinning with simulator... it become better with +120 rudder trim but it wont fix it ........please help....

+Milad Mirzaie I would recommend trying a new profile with a different template than what you're currently using. Perhaps something in the template is messed up and causing your channel signals to not be at their defaults.

I think ACRO is the way to go and then you can tune it from there to fit your needs. I used to fly in ACRO all the time with a small 250 size frame.

can anyone explain how to do that for heli -4 I don't know how but I fixed it so my left Gimbel vertically controllers throttle only horizontally controllers rud while the right Gimbel controllers the other 2 the problem is in the right one it shows them both moving in the same way (right Gimbel vertically ) and nothing on the horizontal one

nigel webber I don't have my 9X right now so I can't remember if you can set the throttle cutoff switch as an auxiliary. If you can then you shouldn't have problems with this setup. Otherwise you may need to customize your firmware with er9x or opentx.
