I loved this episode, Thomas, my dad was a Korean War vet too, in the Canadian forces . He was looking for work and went to the Canadian Railway for a job. The guy asked him “what have you been doing ?” My dad said “I just got back from Korea” , guy said “ over there” pointed to the hiring office. Worked for over 35 years, he said it was the only good thing about being in that war. I salute your dad and my dad and all the others who fought in the “Forgotten War”.

We had a pink and white one when I was a kid. My mom drove it like a race car. Once knocked the hubcaps off another car going around a sharp curve. Another time she took a phone pole down with it before my dad sold it. I still remember him complaining about having to pay seventy five dollars for a phone pole, lol. She was a Cracker Jack, for sure. My brother bought a race car once and had to move it asap but couldn’t get a wrecker or trailer so while he was gone looking for a way to move it, my mom jumped in it fired it up and took off down an eight lane road through the middle of town, the ten miles or so to her place doing about ninety all the way, bragging about not hitting a single red light the whole way. Tons more stories about my mom, the strongest, smartest most real hero you’ve ever met. My hero and the reason for the things I’ve done in my life that I’m proud of and a couple that I’m not so proud of. Lol. One day I’ll write a book.

Finding out that this car did infact belong to Thomas Weeks father,is one of the most incredible stories that I have ever seen on any car channel. Thanks for letting us in on the story Dennis, watching Thomas getting so excited about the car was one of the best moments in KZbin history in my personal opinion. I must confess that I was a huge fan of Misfit Garage, that was one of the better spin offs from fast and loud. Hell in all honesty it was the only good spin off. I started to laugh my ass off about the show" Aaron Kaufman needs a Job" but seeing how he averages, about $40,000 a week and is worth over 8 million dollars" he's the one laughing his ass off" all the way to the Bank! 😜💯

Hey Dennis, love your videos, and I've got a '57 story for you. Back in '81 when I was 15, my family took a trip to San Antonio from Chicago, to visit my step mother's parents. While I was there, I walked the neighborhood looking at nice old cars, and one street over, and a block down, I found an all original '57 Bel Air 2-door hardtop, black/black & silver interior, 283 Power Pack V8 with 4-barrel and dual exhaust, powerglide, power steering, power brakes, electric wipers & washer pump, Wonderbar radio, spinner hubcaps, and one piece front bumper (cars West of the Mississippi got one piece bumpers, East got the three piece ones, ask Thomas). The car was an all original one owner car that they bought new when they got married, and it was daily driven up until '79 when it was parked in the short driveway next to the house. It had 98k miles, slightly faded paint, a few seams separated on the front seat, and the driver's side vent window was cracked, but otherwise in great shape with no rust, and no accidents (all four ends of the bumpers lined up perfectly with the indentations in the body). I talked the old man into selling it to me, and said that all I could come up with was $800 (he looked surprised because he probably paid $1,800 new), because back at home I had a nice triple dark green 318 '71 Challenger that I talked my mom into buying for me for $400 (it was definitely worth at least $800), after my parents got divorced, and my mom had some money. I tried REALLY hard to convince my dad to loan me the money to buy it, and I would've sold the Challenger to pay him back. We could've pushed it over to my step mother's parents house until we could go back to get it home later, but he wouldn't even go look at it, and said "Do you really think Tilly would let me give you $800 for a car?" I was so pissed, I found my dream car, cheap, and couldn't get it. Later my dad realized it was probably a great deal, but trying to give me money with having a new wife wasn't a good idea to him. I would've been the only freshman in my high school with a nice stock black '57 Bel Air, and it would've been restored completely stock also. 😔

That is so cool, Back in the late 50s into the late 60s my father had a towing service in Saint Paul Minnesota. There he had a 57 150 post that took on a tree and messed up the right rear bumper, The car had about 12,000 on the miles, So it came time to sell the tow yard and I asked if I could buy the car from my father I got it for my birthday Gift, It has a 283 with a 2 speed no radio but all stock also in the trunk there was tons of 57 Chevy parts that were from a 210, All the in side and out side trim to a 210 a radio hub caps 2 sets of the wright Rims, seat belts, and more parts for a 57, Man what a neat birthday gift, I am almost 70 now and still have that car. Thanks Dad.
