@@wvufan669 Sorry, no such thing. The Rally Sport was an option for a SS, Z/28, or standard Camaro. It gave hide away headlight and other features. You could get Z/28 RS, or a SS RS, but not both. I still have pics of my second 69 RS Z/28.
@Chumly409 Жыл бұрын
Exactly what I was expecting this Camaro to be, the RS Z/28 as I thought they're more sought after (unless you're hopeful for an impossible Yenko). Isn't it so bizarre that us 80's/90's kids rolled around in, what are now, pretty rare and collectable cars. Restored a pair of '66 Fastback GT K-code 'stangs bought out of a field for $500 each. Now you can't find a shell of a B or C-code fastback worth a darn for under $20K.
@69ssrscamaro4 Жыл бұрын
X33 did come on Norwood cars. X33 denotes that it's a RS(Z22)/Style Trim(Z21) Z28. X77 means it's a Z28 without the RS package(Z22)/Style Trim(Z21) . Also Van Nuys cars had no X coding on the cowl trim tag. Van Nuys Z28's are not as easy to identify base on just the trim tag. That's when you need to start looking at part numbers on M22 trans, carb(DZ), block(DZ) to name a few. Of course protect-o-plates, build sheet, purchase receipts, etc become handy in identify authenticity.

@danielcate7765 Жыл бұрын
Don't mean to be the 69z police but X33 is Z/28 with style trim and X77 is Z/28 without style trim. Rally Sport is it's own option and can be combined with either but not ALL X33's are R/S cars. Same with X77, it's no style trim but could be an RS. At least that's the way I read it on the CRG website. I know I've looked at several X33's over the years with standard front ends.
@gw3598 Жыл бұрын
To answer Shawns question, Z/28 was rhe RPO (regular production order) think COPO designation. The Z/28 moniker was rhe first (and only?) time Chevy's ever marked their cars with the RPO number.
@69ssrscamaro4 Жыл бұрын
@@danielcate7765 That's correct. Just like I've seen X11 cars that where base cars and SS's with and without RS option but had the style trim equipment. To help identify if it's a true RS you have to look for the wiper motor part number and headlight washer solenoid, the correct grommet location for the vacuum hoses going to the dash headlight vacuum switch, rear backup lights under bumper, solid red tail lights and wiring harnesses. Of course it's easy to add these things to a non RS car and make it one as long as the tag for Norwood is X11(Base or 350 SS), X22(396 SS), X33(Z28). I have yet to find an RS that does not have the X11,X22, or X33 for the Norwood plant on the late type trim tag. The Style Trim features are integrated into the Z22 package.

@@timkinley1779 Tim there are basically three ways you find the so called barn find car. You go out and physically search for old cars. However if the car is locked up under cover you will not find it. And it is time consuming and costly in fuel but that is the way I used to find them. I found a Lemans Blue 69 Z28 that way but that was before they were worth crazy money. I bought it because I wanted it for myself. Another way is you network among the people you meet and as car Guys you talk cars. Sometimes you can get a good lead networking that way. In the mid 90"s I found a really nice 69 RS Camaro early production car with 327 and manual trans, console that way. In more recent times like Dennis you use the internet to achieve the same result. Some of the best tasting food comes from the southern states. They know how to season the food to wakeup the taste bud's. Man that catfish looks delicious and fresh. Some people know how to really cook. 😊. My favorite year for the camaro. Hands down.

That's when it would have been very handy to have had a crystal ball. That car you described is up there with the ZL1, Yenko, COPO and Baldwin if it had the JL8 and cross ram from factory.
