The great thing about fishing is 1000 years from now we can still take this information and catch fish. He makes it sound so easy to boot.

For my 18th birthday in 1987, I went on a guided trip with Denny on Truman Lake. The first part of this video reminds me exactly of that trip. Spent most of our time in Hay Creek. Denny would point out exactly where to flip my jig and the majority of the time, I'd get a hit. I still have my Daiwa flipping stick. Later, I got 3 different Wheaties boxes with him on them and eventually got 1 autographed. Good memories.

Love it. Check that 5 and a half foot rod on a spinner bait! I fish like that but partly because I broke the top 4 inches off the rod. Put a replacement eye on and kept going.

And its a pistol grip rod on top of that.

It's just as good now as it was then it's the fishermen that aren't as good

Another method that I have used is let the lure or plug rest on the surface then raise the rod tip up dropping the lure down and pause and reel.

I can agree with you that fish will be in a shaded area I went fishing with a friend at his private lake and dropped a top water plug at the of the tree and got slammed

From back when you could go fishing in jeans. Of course, also from back when you could go snow skiing in jeans...

I always wear jeans when I fish. I didn’t realize that there were guys out there checking out my trousers while I fish.

Hell yeah! I still fish in jeans. I still fish short rods. I use sonar only 99% of the time. I need one of those high top hats to complete the retro deal.

Denny I only release fish that are too small and just catch enough for several meals. Or catch some for people who can't go fishing themselves.
