The coffee set is for one person. You have hot coffee ,half boiled egg .toast and tea .The Thais have two ways of having it ,either pour coffee into the egg and stir then drink in one go ,or dipping the toast into half boiled egg or having the egg on its own ( add soil sauce ,pepper and drink it) , then have coffee . After finished your coffee , have chinese tea to wash down you coffee .

HI, welcome to Thailand. The place you went for breakfast is a Chinese restaurant, the coffee that you got, it's a breakfast set by itself. If you only want coffee, you can say so but you'll get the weak Chinese tea to wash off the test of coffee anyway but not toast &the soft boiled egg and you can tell them "not sweet (coffee)". The bugs that you ate are the "Silk worms". You can try "Panaeg Curry""Massaman Curry" they're not to spicy.(choice of meat). The popular dish for tourists are "Tom Yum-soup"&"Pad Thai-fried noodles" Enjoy your stay !!

Your first dish is Hokkien, a half Thai-Chinese dish. It is a famous local food of Phuket. And the coffee set that you have tried is a Thai morning coffee set in ancient times. Thai people in the past worked mostly as laborers. both farming and gardening They therefore need a lot of energy from food. And sugar is a great source of energy. This is why coffee has to be sugared or very sweet. Such as the energy drink of Thai people original red bull It will be like sugar syrup. very sweet for foreigners Because Red Bull is sold around the world in cans. It has been adapted from a Thai recipe by sweetening it down with soda. because the original recipe of Thailand is too sweet The way to eat the coffee set is Thai people will start from eggs. By adding pepper and soy sauce to reduce the fishy smell of the eggs. and ate all at once As for coffee, people give condensed milk and coffee together and dip the bread into the coffee (this is a secret of Thai people that many people don't know 🤣). then rinse the throat with hot tea. The part where you ask about recommended foods. Foreigners may think that Thai people like to eat Pad Thai or Tom Yum often. These menus are just famous Thai dishes. But Thai people have national fast food. or Thai hamburger is "Pad kraprao or stir fried another meat with holy basil". You can create your own style Pad Kraprao. You can fry any meat in the world with kraprao. If you don't eat meat, there's also Kraprao Tofu, and of course, fried eggs on top Pad Kraprao is the best combo.😁😁🙏🙏

Well I have been trying for the past 2 weeks to get the Thai Pass to fly to Phuket and the whole process is a nightmare. I spent a lot of money in reservations and booking but there is always something popping up that I need combined with issues from their systems that don't work all the time and a staff not very reactive plus an embassy that only reply automated messages well it is very unlikely I obtain that pass in time to fly next week so I have started to plan my hols somewhere else as a backup plan. I am very frustrated by the whole thing. Yes these people seem to be very cool and relax but at my expense from what I understand.

I do understand when seeing foreigners hugging or kissing in temples because they just want to share love, happiness and good time they are having together while travelling... Someone might think that the rule is too unreasonably sensitive or even it's a serious taboo, but it's got a reason. Our religious has a vital 'Nirvana' principle of refraining from every forms of human's (deep) sensations/emotions, including love or hate, which possibly originate causes of lust and distress that make our mind frustrated. It probably sounds crazy to know and I do believe that we as Buddhists can't even do that seriously all the time because we have to live our emotional lives; however, the principle teaches/reminds some of us to control emotions, not to let them cause serious grieves and make up mind to let things go. Also, temples are the privileged area for monks or practitioners who aims for that (nirvana), that's why they prohibit us to do something emotional in order to avoid showing them lusts. But once again, not every monks could also do that...😑😆

Hi Denny & Nikki. Free Thai lesson here. These are some useful words. Sawaddee Krub (sounds like you'd say cUt, not Kroob) if you are a male, and Sawaddee Kah, if you are a female. Say it as you would HELLO in English. Kawp Koon, Kah/Krub = Thank you. Kawp Koon Mark, Kah/Krub (R is silent) = Thank you VERY much. Un Nee Arai, Kah/Krub? = What is this? You can point to the item and ask. Un Nee Tao Rai, Kah/Krub? = How much is THIS one? Aow (say how many pieces you want) 2 un, or 2 chint, Krub/Kah. = I would like 2 pieces, or 3 or 4... Mai Aow = I don't want it. Aroi Mark = Very delicious. Be sure to roll your tongue, but some lazy tongued Thais or Farangs pronounced as aLoi; It is... Meh!. It's understandable, but I would recommend that you roll your tongue to amaze the natives. R = ร, and L = ล. Mai = No La gone = Good bye. Now, let's work on how to say numbers in Thai language... 1 = Nuh-ung (practice it each syllable, then say it as one word). This one is tricky. 2 = Sohng 3 = Sa-um (See tip on #1) 4 = Sie ( as Si, but stretch a bit longer on the "i" 5 = Hah 6 = Hok 7 = Jed 8 = Phad (this one is tricky as well, because no alphabet in English comes close to pronounce it; My advice is to press your lips as if to say a letter P, but press harder then say Phad. Remember, 'h" is silent. Gary from The Roaming Cook Channel can show you how, he is a Brit, but speaks Thai fluently. He lives in Thonburi, just across the river from BKK. Please contact him on Facebook or Instagram if you like, he can show you around. You can ask if you can collaborate with him, you know, gaining his viewers as he gains yours. He is an awesome, full of knowledge, and very humble guy. Tell him Panna sent you. He'll know). 9 = Ga-ow (see tip on #1) 10 = Sib. Ok, hope this help. If you need more, just mention it & and if I see it, I'll leave a comment/answer, or some other Thai would be happy to help. Until next time...La gone, Kah. **Note** Using the words KRUB & KAH at the end of each sentence, is being respectful & polite. Oh, SORRY = Caw Tode, kah/krub.🤓
