I drilled to holes in the slider rail so if someone bumps the laptop stand towards me, it doesn't bust up the screen. I just drop 2 x flat head bolts in and it prevents the tray from sliding past the point where it would break the screen. Easy to pull out as well.

With X Fader Start, the track is not starting immediately because your initial cue marker is offset from the first downbeat of the track. Move your initial cue closer to the down beat and you'll have better results.

So I'm new to learning about how DJ controllers work my question is do you need to buy a pair of large speakers to plug into the controller in order to just freestyle or just play on the controller for Entertainment or can the Controller itself just play sound?

1. Can you show how to add songs from an external USB or PC to the internal drive? 2. I had the Pioneer XDJ-RX2 but it had a terrible delay between releasing the platter as to when the song would continue playing when scratching or cueing up the song. I basically had to push the forward to get the song to play on the release. Do you notice any lag time upon release of the platter and when the song resumes playing? Hopefully I've explained number two correctly. Also, wanted to see why didn't it read your prepared USB drive and only shows one song? Thanks, this video really helps us prepare for it's arrival.

Here's what I found out so far, no you cannot load tracks to the internal drive from any other USB source on the Prime 4. That may be a feature that will come in the future but at this point they say no you can't. That's a little crazy if you ask me. So that means if you have new tracks you have to take the internal drive out, load your new tracks and then put it back in, that makes no sense at all. Hopefully I'm wrong but that's what I'm reading

@@soundentertainmentdjs688 Strange. I thought I saw a video of a Denon rep explaining that you would connect the unit to your PC, put it in a certain mode or switch and it will show up as a drive (in Denon Engine?). I've watched many videos, so will search to verify.

If your not useing it for an Ipad or laptop you could take it off. Mine is staying as I will be running SoundSwitch through my laptop for lighting and an Ipad as a backup music player. Totally user preference.

I realise you probably already sorted something, but for anyone else's sake, if you don't want to use your prime with a laptop, buy one without the shelf. Odyssey makes the FRPRIME4 which is very similar but no shelf. It's cheaper and smaller.

Why the the laptop tray on the case when you don't need a laptop for the prime 4? Doesn't make sense to me.

The tray is for the computer that will be running the SoundSwitch lighting program. Until they integrate the option of running a lighting program within engine Prime you still need the tray.

Sir G. O. Not much . He is good guy and very knowledgeable. He said the platters were the weak part of the unit and I almost didn’t order mine, but now I have my hands on them and I personally think they are impeccable...perfect and smooth. He must have gotten a bum unit.

@@TeleporterM11 to be honest, he doesn't know a lot more than all of us do. I've seen some of his videos as stated earlier and have caught false info. These were his early videos. He definitely knows more now, but like I said, no more than any of us. What he does, along with many other youtubers is give opinions. That is not knowledge and confuses beginners. And of course, this is my opinion. Well glad to hear you like it. I saw a lot of videos as you probably did waiting for the unit, stating that it was not a good unit. Again, opinions. It made me want it even more, lol. I'm probably going to play with mine either end of this week or end of next. I just bought a new desktop, so I need to get that running. I practice on my desktop so I need to install serato, engine prime, etc.

Depending on your setup. I use powered speakers. You can also use passive speakers and hook up to an amplifier. Powered speakers are tbe most cost effective way to go.. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for the video, If I'm correct the USB B port is to connect your laptop to the Prime 4 and then on the Laptop, the Prime 4 should show as an external drive. Hope I'm correct, I'm still waiting for mine. Could you maybe show us the space that is left between the Prime 4 and the case at the back?

You are correct on the laptop hook up. The port to the right of that is for Sound Switch. Yes I'll add that to one of the upcoming videos. The space behind the deck is 4.5 inches.

I have the same case for my prime 4 and I HATE it! The shelf blocks the screen, it weighs FAR too much AND the size of the case is ridiculous. And like you said, there's no room for a mic system. I'm praying gator makes a lightweight case, with a 1 space rackmount in it.
