Perfect politically correct answer. Being that you yourself is a Brand Ambassador to Denon DJ maybe you can make sense as to his reasoning for leaving. He claims he wanted Denon to implement Stems but they didn't want to go that route yet as soon as he leaves they announce Stems Beta for Prime 4+ which means it must've been already in the works.

Thank you for the honesty, and sharing your thoughts. I am glad to hear that there was nothing really negative about any of your brand experiences in the past. I feel people get to blind by brand loyalty and miss out on things that could be better because of it. I am currently in the Denon camp and have no ill will towards you or anyone who decides to jump brands. The important part is not the gear you use but how you use your gear and if you can use this new setup better than the old then you would have been dumb not to switch.

It took me a while to realize this while there was a surge in digital djing... but all that matters is what comes out of the speakers. The crowd doesnt care what you dj with or how you do it. The only people who care are other djs. And I love my fellow djs, but I dont dj for other djs. I dj to entertain crowds. So, if it sounds good coming out of the speakers, DO IT!

Nice and very interesting! I just got some slack from a good friend of mine that I sold out and ditched vinyl and the 1200 from back in the 80’s-90’s, and I became a softee DJ with controllers. I just got back to DJing in 2022 and jumped on the new technology (learning curve like how to tie my shoes again). But I embrace the new gear and technology because it’s made it easier for me to make edits and mix a certain way and I finally learned how to use the cue points lol. I see this video and it makes so much sense, I may have to try reloop gear to DJ with my iPhone to start having it as a back and move it to my preferred gear for future events. I always loved music and I never had the balls to start dj'ing out of being so unfamiliar with how it all worked. I didn't have access to gear and didn't wanna buy an entire set up not knowing how i'd actually make out with it after trying. I came across the djay app and it lit the fire. Years later im doing gigs, recording mixes and having an awesome time with it. I don't blame you one bit for trying new things even if it's not popular. The future of dj'ing in my opinion isn't only with what you're saying but also starting to happen more often in VR....once the mixed reality technology takes off where you can see your equipment better, then things are really gonna change and you'll see even more people like myself get into the art. The proof is in your craft though, there's no need to explain every move you make. I've been a big fan for a long time

Luke you are a breath of fresh air in a world filled full of DJs on pioneer The Denon move was something which broke the mould ( I personally have loved using a Denon prime 4 set up at private events) I personally cannot get around the use of a phone as a "CDJ" as I need the physical feel of adjusting and selecting a track.

As far as I'm concerned, a DJ should always stay true to himself/herself (like you have always done, Luke). There is no such thing as the "best piece of gear." Just the best piece of gear for YOU and your style of performing... and since your style is always growing and evolving, it only makes sense that you venture into new gear and technology. Thanks for keeping it real, brother!

U handled that like a true pro! Not sure why people grumble cause u dont use a particular equipment. My first mixer was Behringer DDM4000 and honestly once mastered.. it had its own unique sound and had more feTures than other brands at the time! U can be great with two tape players if u have the skills and pssion. Thx LBL!! ❤

Change is hard for a lot of people. I went from DJing in the 90's on Technics, to adding 2 5000m in the setup. I get where people come from on serato and these new players feel like cheating the old craft. This is the evolution of the tools available. Use it for what it is, not as a focus point on the world changing around you. Be creative and use all the tools available to you to have fun and keep the crowd pumping.

I love this! I made a similar switch 5 years ago to Algoriddim djay Pro AI after nearly a decade using Traktor. I’m all for innovation, creativity and keeping an open mind within this craft.

Full respect to you bro, i am open minded when it comes to dj equipment. Not about the name but what it can do and how it works for me when mixing. I've had the reloop 40 dsp for over 10 years, i upgrade when it's needed. At the same time i have a pair of 900nxs. Just like my style of mixing, it's mix and match. Good luck with everything buddy 😊👍🏻💪🏻

I saw a interview they did on the streets back in the 90's asking random people if they had a computer @home, most of them laughed at the idea of having one in home let a lone internet, look at us now.. Good job mr Luke, new things will always be developed your mindset is just ahead of the game and the rest will eventually follow
