And this is where context matters. Those laws were for the Israelites and the Jews. They were never meant for today's Christians. Jesus's sacrifice and death negated those rules because they were doing those things as a way to petition God for forgiveness of sin since the fall of man in the Garden of Eden. Jesus himself called out Jews and his own followers for following such strict, burdensome laws when they knew very well who he was and what his mission was.
