That family asking for money segment was so real. We're not UP-UP, but comfortable enough to get asked. Someone was asking like, every month at one point, and I nipped that mess is the bud. I said they have several parents, a significant other, and a job; if they're running through all of those resources every month, they need help budgeting- offer to do that. Another one asked me to help with their script, and had the nerve to get loud in front of other family members at a REPAST saying, "Now, you said you were going to help me, and I haven't heard from you. What happened?" I didn't want to embarrass them, but did. I let everybody know, just as loud that I had one requirement, and that was to see the script and never received it. "Now, you tell me what happened? You couldn't expect me to work on something I've never seen, but good luck with that." Silenced- don't let people play with you, your time, or your coins. My current go-to is that we're saving for a car for our oldest, and investing. We have 5 children so this should last us a good while.🤣🤣🤣

As a child growing up in a upper lower class family while i had relatives in other countries, they would treat my parents like ATM machines. They’d never call to ask how I was doing in school, how I’m doing, etc. But when they needed something they would turn to us every time. I’m all about people not having to suffer to deserve needs and even some wants but the lack of familial interaction outside of being an ATM machine is why I have no intention of considering them family when I hit big moments like graduations and weddings. (Don’t even get me started on how they only started calling me when they learned I’m on my way to med school. Now they’re checking in which honestly makes me sad.)
