beacuse physics. every gas increases temperature when compressed and becomes cooler when decompressed so AC exploits this principle by turning the hot compressed gas to ambient temperature so when the evaporator decompresses it, the temperature goes even lower than ambient and you can get chilled air.

help me growling Sound from AC compressor during idling with AC off , after switching ON AC no sound at all cooling is good but as I switch off AC or cabin reaches desired temperature sound again starts, is this bcoz of low compressor oil ?? (when refrigerant flows compressor has enough oil to lubricate and when AC off compressor doesn't have oil for lubrication as refrigerant flow stops(my theory)).. hyundai elite i20 any one help...pl

ah yes, your clutch has gone bad; you can replace the clutch and pulley assembly; you don't need to relpace the whole thing as that is expensive.

Nah it's just the pulley bearing went bad, replace your ac compressor pulley bearing

This is a very common setup: L4 FF-t - Transversely mounted engine line 4 engine with FWD, similar to many European and Asian cars. Belt is on one (lateral) side, the transmission on the other.
