Thanks for the great video and all the effort you've put in! Do you know what kind of algorithm Geomagic Control X uses to match the objects? I can´t find an answer anywhere :/ Maybe you can help; it would be much appreciated :)

Hello I am Marcelo Aguiar. I am doing a research about temporo mandibular joints and i need to aligne two TMJ cone beam images (dicom files) to now if the volume of the condiles are the same before and after the treatment. Do you have any video explaning how to do it with this software? i have alhead did the 3d imagings using ITK software.

sorry, but i forgot to ask how to calculate the volume of the condiles to find out if the colume is the same or if it got some diference. Thank you very much!

this video is so useful it helped me alot thank you for sharing your knowledge iwant to ask you a question is it possible to compare more than 2 models at once?

Not sure! Great question. Test it out and let us know what you find out!

I have a question. What is the most relevant result of a comparison? The standard deviation?
@DoHardThings945 жыл бұрын
It could be all sorts of different things. Max deviation, std deviation, mean, median, etc. Depends on whatever your research project is trying to explore.
@rotarraul7455 жыл бұрын
@@DoHardThings94 so for example when you are overlapping to scans(STL files), one being the refference, which of these ''variables'' ( mean ,stdev,etc.) is more relevant?

Rotar Raul usually the average absolute value of the average positive and negative deviations
@DoHardThings945 жыл бұрын
@@rotarraul745 what Wally said below! We took the mean of 1) the average positive deviation and 2) the absolute value of the average negative deviations. That prevents bias that would otherwise be present if you just took the overall mean.

Did you ever save 3D Compare deviation Map in 3D PDF?
@DoHardThings944 жыл бұрын
Hey there - sorry for the delay. We do not check these comments often! Yes I believe it is possible. We chose for 2D image renderings in our output, but I believe there's a way to export the 3D compare deviation map. Check it out and let us know!

Hello I am in post graduation, and we would like to do a thesis work where we do Facial scan + intra oral scan and we match thoses files (stl+obj). What we want to compare is 2 matching methods, the manual alignement method without aligners, just by hand, and with the use of aligners (aft scan body for example). Do you think this software can compare which method of matching is more accurate ? Thanks

Hey there! Thanks for your message and kind compliment. We cannot help you get the program (you will have to do that directly with the software company) but feel free to reach out to me via email for something else.
