I am brand new to trying to learn about fixing dents even though I have had the tools for years but never used them. I was too busy in my paint repair vending until I got seriously ill from the chemicals I was always dealing with. I happened to come across the YT video (one of the first I found) about dent trainer. I was hooked!!! Man, I can not say enough about the quality and knowledge of the training. I am like most guys/gals that want to learn pdr but can not afford the thousands of $$$ it takes to go to a school. It's great to know that subscribing to this site is as good or perhaps even better than dent trainer. Thanks for sharing. Both sites have a two thumbs up from me!!!! :)

I do auto inspections for the auction. And when we look for pdr holes--- standard is 1-2 pdr holes on a panel is acceptable. Anything more on a panel is where it affects the resales factor.

Mike, if I'm not mistaken, I had work on Cadillac XT5 and you can get access by removing the striker and pushing a plate with threaded holes, just bring back the plate and replace the striker, not sure if this model is the same as the XT5 crossovers. Just a tip if you ever have to work on that specific model. Great job and very informative on your videos as always!!! Cheers.

Very good Mike..... it is a super skill you have, and as an interested viewer and retired aching mechanic your excellent video can only reveal what is happening on the outside of the skin of the vehicle , but the bulk of the skill is the unseen fine manipulation of your dent tools , and angles of applied force after "God knows " how many practice panels . Please be the first to use a medical camera to show whats happening on the inside of the panel ........Go on ...you can do it ....prove you will take this on-board ! . Go for it ....take the challenge .
@denttime

Jonathan Hewitt Thanks but honestly I have a lot of videos that show the backside of a panel with tool pressure being applied on denttrainer.com however that’s not as important as understanding how to read your reflection because the reflection is telling you exactly what your tool is doing.

Just have to ask. Do you Slap a little paint on he hole you drilled and put a grommet on it? I’m assuming you do because obviously that is a place for rust to start.

Hi Mike Why don't you use ghost lights instead of the line boards
@denttime
@denttime 6 жыл бұрын
pezza duva not sure what a ghost light is but if you are referring to a fog, I just prefer lines because it’s the best pattern for me to understand everything that is going on with the damage.

Excellent video Mike. I was a Auto body technician for about 15yrs. and someone told me that it's much harder for an ex body tech to learn PDR, would you agree?
@denttime
@denttime 6 жыл бұрын
Tim datoolman yes I do believe body men have more of a challenge. This is a finesse technique and takes tremendous patience. It is also completely different from Autobody work all together.

Thanks for the response, I guess that's bad news for me, haha! I would have to retrain my brain to look at the dent in a new way I'm sure. You do great videos. Keep up the great work.
@denttime
@denttime 6 жыл бұрын
Tim datoolman it’s actually more mind set. If you finish tasks that are challenging then you can do pdr. If you give up easily in life on things you start like goals, then pdr is definitely not for you.

Hi Mike I’m starting my own PDR business and I am very interested in taking your classes. I currently work in a very bus’s body shop and I see the opportunity to tap into the PDR side. I am a car guy I enjoy working on cars sound systems, detailing, customizing all type of vehicles. I live in Northern California and from your videos I see your based out of San Diego. How can I get information on attending one of your classes or if you could give me any advise how to go about getting certified. Mike thank you very much for your time and I look forward to watching all your posted videos. My name is Javier (Javi) thank you.

I was a member of Dentrainer. I enjoyed the videos and would enjoy referencing it again during my down time however, your policy for cancellation is unfair and should be illegal. The day of cancellation you shut people down regardless of whether they have more days left that they have paid for.. This forces people to try and cancel on the last day of their contract. As for myself, I was out of town on this day and was charged for another month on my Visa card due to the auto renewal clause. Sounds like an intentional money grab by greedy people. I think your videos are among the best and clearest on the internet, but for this reason I will never subscribe to dentrainer again.
