I've been a Dental Hygienist for 46 years and I think your new teeth look great. You were wise to have a few "flaws" built in because that does make them more natural. I'm so glad you had a dentist and periodontist who worked so closely and personally with you.

dental hygienist told me to get a little sore in 2021 or whatever it was on my lip looked at, i ignored her a few cleanings but she kept dwelling on it and the dentist never even mentioned it. Well i went to dermatologist like she said and they froze it 2 times in one visit. Ok, thought that went good. Well it scabbed over to 3 years and bled so bad ever day that if i wasn't retired i wouldn't have been able to go to work. It bled all over the floor in my house when I didn't have time to grab a napkin. I tell you if they ever bring in one of those lights it will look like a murder scene. Anyways this March 2024, i saw her again and she asked whats wrong with your lip since it was bleeding that a.m. before my visit and i told her how i went to derm. like she asked me and this was the outcome. She said you need it cut off in March. I cried on the way home and on Easter I asked God for a miracle. Well it started healing after that, in Sept I saw her and she said oh I see you got that cut off and I replied NO way. I have a tiny red spot but it is basically healed. Thank you God.

Our 31 year old son just made his last payment on full-mouth denture implants. He lost the majority of his teeth due to neglect & addiction. But he’s come a long way and paid for it 100% himself. He didn’t want us to help & saved for 4 years all while living on his own. (It was $30,000!) We’re so very proud of him. My heart melted into a puddle when he smiled big for the first time in almost 10 years. 🥹☺️ I worked in the dental field for 30 years (retired now) so I find the process very interesting. Your teeth look great! Thank you for sharing your story. Bless you ❤❤❤

I got my dentures about 8 yrs ago and i do not use denture adhesive. If your dentist has a good lab, dentures should not require adhesive. Just wanted to let your viewers know that dentures don't mean denture adhesive if they fit correctly. I love your laugh and your smile is BEAUTIFUL! Your speech is great and will continue to improve. The more you practice the better it'll be. Your dental team is incredible! I'd just started following you when the accident occurred. You are a WARRIOR! ❤ God bless!

thank you!!!!! and thanks for mentioning that! I think too they talked to me about adding this soft....like a padding in your dentures....I had temp dentures that were way too big and would not stay in my mouth, even with adhesive....but I have a LOT of bone/gum issues and I was a hard case. Why can't I win the lottery like that? hahahaha

@@TheKneadyHomesteader I'm 4 yrs. older than you, and have had dentures for around 10 yrs I think (dates are hard for me, maybe longer). I have the glue-in kind and when my doctor took out my teeth, he told me I would eventually need the implants because I have almost no bone there for them to sit on/attach to. I will have to have cadaver bone put in first, and after that heals, then they can do the implants but they said that will be several months down the road after that surgery. I don't know if you can use regular dentures temporarily until the post holes heal up or not? It's very cost prohibitive though. I will have to stick with the glue until we can save up the money for implants. I have always been curious how those work. It would be nice to not have to re-glue them every time I eat! Does anything get stuck under your bottom denture when you bite down with the implants or do they snap in tight enough you won't bite down on a sesame seed and have it send you to the moon and back in pain? I also had to have the bone scraping surgery because when they were taking my teeth out, the jawbone around them shattered and kept coming to the surface (which feels like a sliver in your jaw). I am still praying for you too!!

Adhesive depends on how much bone loss there has been. I have to use adhesive all the time.
@faukerconsulting8357 күн бұрын
@@tmrodriguez2517🙋🏻♀️I have 35+ years of dental experience and care and everything Heather has gone through in her journey... ☝🏻IF you need to use denture adhesive if any kind whether it be paste or pads or powder, you MUST see a dental professional or "Prosthodontist"!!! Dentures are not meant to exceed 5-10 years each set you have made...it's important for you to have them examined annually because an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure as your mouth changes whether you realize it or not and women are even more prone to bone loss. ALL dentures need to be religned and until it happens you just won't understand how well they should fit!!! ALSO...when your teeth are removed and dentures are immediately replacing teeth those are NOT a final denture, it is an intermediate denture, and you should expect to pay for a final set in ~12-18 months later once everything has healed and shrunk to the final form.

When i was 26 a drunk driver hit us and all my teeth were fractured and I had to have them all removed, that was many years ago, i am 61 now, they did not do bone grafting back then and no implants back then, because no bone grafting was done, my jaw is now as think as a piece of paper and at risk for breaking, abd means i also cannot hace implants because of how thin my jaw is, they say once it breaks then they will take bone from my hips and graft it onto my jaw, and then they will do a couple implants to anchor my dentures, i feel you though, i have never not had problems with my dentures, constant soreness, constantly applying polygrip, its always something, so glad you are through the worst and healing, and you look beautiful xo

You look great! I just found your channel about two months ago and think you are a beautiful person. I'm beginning to have problems with my teeth. I've had receding gums for years and have tried to take care of them. Had braces at abe 35, I'm 75 now, and I couldn't have implants because of bone loss. I would have to have a lot of work done to build up bone. I'm too old to go through so much. I guess I'll have to go to dentures eventually, but hopefully, I can keep my teeth until I go to be with the Lord. I also have an autoimmune disease which attacks your joints and teeth. I'm a retired RN and remember when implants were being developed at The Cleveland Clinic Hospital where I worked in the late 70s. God Bless you

I was 39 when I had to get a top denture, the teeth loosened up and so the only thing that could be done was to pull them and get a denture. I do still have my lower teeth but require a partial to replace back teeth. It’s very difficult to find not only a good dentist but to find one that uses a good lab, I have to use adhesive in my Denture I’ve also had them relined but still hey won’t stay in without adhesive, we use polygrip and it works wonderfully, also use the polident for soaking at night. At my age 66 I wouldn’t dream of getting implants now, too much of an expense, even with insurance, I believe our dental started covering a percentage of implants but probably not enough or it could be just for a single tooth that is missing. Your teeth and smile are beautiful, take care 🤗

Heather, you are beautiful with or with out teeth, but having your complete smile ( and giggle) back is a gift to the world!! Your dentist is truly a Michelangelo of teeth sculpturing, making imperfections perfectly!! I understand how teeth can be such an issue with our impression of ourselves. I had my 4 front teeth knocked out in an accident when I was 3 yrs. old, and even though my adult teeth came in years later, I believe it stopped me from smiling. I have no pictures of me really smiling, for years, and I don't know if that's when my severe shyness kicked in. I'm 67 now, and still trying to get a good picture smile. Bless you for sharing your life journey, more ups than downs now, thank you God!!!❤

oh thank you, Shirley! You know, that happened to my second born son, Luke....he fell while playing in the backyard, bam face down on the cement, I snatched him up so fast, and his baby tooth fell out. I pushed it back in and ran him to the urgent care, and ended up saving his tooth! It was a bit discolored, but thankfully it was a baby tooth! It is crazy how trauma can change your smile forever...... I hold your hand in solidarity when it comes to smiling big for the camera!

Thanks for sharing your story through it all, it was a Blessing to hear 🥰 I need to get my teeth done and keep putting it off, due to so many horrible experiences over the years. My husband keeps telling me to make an appointment, but I still have not. I’m still trying to decide who to go to.

I am thinking about asking my dentist if implants will be a better option for me because I have really bad teeth. Because of my surgeries and my medical diagnosis. So glad that you are doing better. Watching you go through this has really given me confidence to ask my Dentist. Thank you so much. 🙏💕🙏💕

It is a process, but they reminded me in the end, it would be worth it, and they were right! Typically it's a 6 month healing....mine took an extra 4 months, but thats ok! It was still worth it! Keep me posted on what your dentist says.....teeth are so stressful.

Love u so much. Been with you through all and teeth or no teeth I just see a beautiful person. However I am so thrilled that you are finally feeling comfortable in them and they are beautiful and really do represent your natural teeth. I love your dentists and your denturists etc., for taking so much care with you. Smiling so hard right now. Hugs and luv

My dentist wanted me to get implants to “hook” my dentures on. I opted not to. I’ve had my full mouth for 10 years! No adhesive. I need to get new ones soon. These are getting thin in spots. Your are amazing and you look wonderful.

I'm happy you are doing well with your implants, Heather! You've been through so much and deserve every praise. My journey with implants hasn't been successful, I nearly went septic this summer during the donor bone graft/implant journey and have worked to regain my health since then. Still only able to chew around my front teeth and debating which kind of process is next: dentures/flippers or try the implant route again. For now, I'm basically eating a 'mechanical' diet and when food gets in the wrong area, my sad gums and cheeks get injured and then I'm on an L-Lysine diet to heal those tissues. Due to 'good-old-boy' relationships, my dentist's office will never discredit the oral surgeon(s) they recommended during this process (multiples). I can't even begin to imagine the battle you have had to go through to get to this point now, Heather. You've faced so many incredible struggles...none of us can ever even imagine it. I'm sad that my dear Hubby is supportive but can't understand why I haven't wanted to just travel to Mexico to get all of this done for so incredibly much less money. If only I was on his side of this issue, on paper it seems so much easier.
@mollysmith60557 күн бұрын
Just re-reading and my comment doesn't make much sense...Hubby thinks I should consider travelling to Mexico to have all my teeth removed and then have instantaneous dentures created. Uhh...I can't even really begin to fully explain how fully this is horrifying to me. Doesn't mean it won't ever happen but...yikes, just thinking of this whole process my blood pressure is probably skyrocketing.
