I had the same problem I wore my mask around the house for two weeks around my husband only removing it when he was at work. I told him how I felt and he kept telling me he didn’t love me for my teeth and just kept reassuring me. One day we were cuddling on the couch and he gently reached over and pulled down my mask. I was in a panic inside. He told me no matter what you are always beautiful and from that moment on the mask was off. Trust me it was hard but you can do it. Just be really open and honest with him so he knows it is not him and he knows what you are going through

Awwww hun he sounds amazing ❤❤❤ I took my mask off...and we had a wonderful time. He even cooked something I could eat lol. Then the next day we went shopping and yo the rescue shelter to walk and love on dogs. Because of the amazing support here I had the motivation to do it 😊😊😊 thank you so much for inspiring me! Awww, I know the feeling of being nervous to pull your teeth out in front of the person you love. Every small step makes a huge difference and he sounds like an understanding guy, it's just something you need to get the confidence in and just open up and say "f it, I'm taking my teeth out accept me as I am and if you don't like it sorry not sorry, this is me in all my glory"

I feel you. Only my kids have seen me without teeth as well. You could tell him to see how he feels about it. If he doesn’t like it then he’s not for you. But I believe it will not bother him. Sounds like a good man 👏🏾

Very true saying we are all different...we are who we are :) having no teeth does make us feel vulnerable and naked especially to those we care about the most. So, I said I wouldn't be caught dead in public without my dentures. Well, today at work, I was forced to take my dentures out and I didn't wear a mask. I faced both men with my toothless grin and coped. I'm proud of myself. Both clients and the security guard knew I'd had extractions and one of them had seen me with dentures. Neither of them were fazed by my gumminess. One of them said I was "cute!" Yowza. Not that he's my type, but if this man says I'm cute without my teeth, then I must be attractive to someone. I don't plan on being toothless in public often, but if it's necessary - I'm gonna put on my big girl panties and deal with it.

We've been together 8 years and I'm only 31 and I have to get a top denture I know this is best for me but the things I'm upset about I know are valid but they were so dumb I couldn't help but to laugh as the tears came down my face .. What a night you had, sweetie. I'm sorry. You really are down right now. I don't know how to help you articulate your situation better than to allow your guy to watch your videos. You are open and honest and he'll get it. If you can't do this to his face because of shame or fear (although you are not afraid of him -- you're afraid of losing him), then let your open and honest words tell him for you. He's a good guy. You trust him and love him. Let him see you bare your soul and your gums while you give him the time to process the feelings you're having. That's my advice. Your videos will not panic and run away in fear. Be as brave as you are in your videos. After he sees them, it's time to take the mask off with the trust that he'll be right there loving you through this.

@@GeneveveSmith You are a beautiful woman. I didn't do a video of my struggles, because I worked today. I was going to film before I got to work this morning and time got away with me. I am spending quite a bit of time without my teeth in because they hurt. I don't know if it's bone fragments or sore spots, but I took them out at 1:00 and I work until 2:00. Two clients got to see me toothless and didn't blink an eye.

@@GeneveveSmith I am having issues with bone shards for sure, Geneveve. I'm about 2 weeks ahead of you, but they are totally coming to the surface. I was forced to be toothless in front of clients at work today. Fortunately, they were guys of my own age (mid 60s), who understand this stuff and just thought I was "cute" without my teeth. I got a giggle out of this, actually. I'm single, but I'm not looking to have any relationships, especially with a client of a DUI program. Still, it was heartening to hear that I was "adorable" without my teeth.

I have been doing saline sinus rinses. If it continues for you, you may want to request an MRI to make sure your sinuses weren't exposed through a root. I took a hot bath today that helped relax me a lot. I bet a heating pad would help you feel more comfortable. As far as being self conscious in front of your boyfriend, that is understandable because it is a newer relationship, however you are very lucky. Your face looks cute and it isn't noticeable you don't have teeth. I have a long upper lip/frenulum cupids bow area and a heart shaped/rounder face and it is noticeable immediately. Maybe you can take them out for periods during the day and keep them in when you are with him, until you feel more comfortable? Ya know though, if your teeth were as bad as you say they were, he saw you during that and still fell in love with you...keep that in mind.

Geneveve - 1) You took a huge step toward improving your health when you had the natural teeth removed. From the images you have shared before the extractions; it defies belief the infections allowed you to endure the pain over the years. 2) If this man remains a part of your life, then seeing you without natural teeth at some point is inevitable. 3) Perhaps a face to face open conversation is in order (at least tell him how you feel). Probably following a discuss, it would be time for a toothless "revel' without your ill fitting dentures in place. Likely, he will be please the bad teeth are gone, your overall health is improving, In the near future you will have replaced a 'problem' with a functional and cosmetic solution. You have taken steps to improve your life - smile with or without teeth!

It's so fresh still. I know we worry about what our partners think. I talked with my husband what he would think. He said whatever you need to do to be healthy. We all will lose our teeth at some point. Maybe show him your videos? Watch them next to him? He sounds like a really great guy and he cares about you. I can understand how you feel about not wanting your boyfriend to see you without teeth,but you know,if he really loves you it will not bother him a bit,and if it does then you will know that he is not the right Man for you! And I was going to tell you I have been with my boyfriend for a yr. And I just went on and got it out there. I said hey u want to see where I got my teeth removed and he surprised me and said yes. So I took them out and walk into the living thinking he's going to tell me oh lord your ugly but he didnt he said baby bless your heart. And the next day I had a bottle of wine in the refrigerator he bought. And he said I thought u might want a glass to settle your nerves. I thought that was so sweet. Because I have had a hard time looking at him even with my teeth in lol. Geneveve Smith yes I do, every night and I soak them for at 6 hours. I would put on a mask before, but he is really, honestly a wonderful kind man❤️. I wouldn't be married to him now for 37 years. Trust me when I tell you, that you look beautiful without them. Am 57 years old and have the sunken in look, my tummy still gets upset when I look in the mirror. But because of his assurance and love am getting more comfortable with him seeing me at night time. My husband seen me for the first time tonight without my dentures in. I was scared. But he said don't be. And I think its ok now. He didn't seem to mind we just watched a few movies and talked.. Hi there sweet pea well I must tell you I'm still why should say back in the dating pool after another divorce and I get what you're saying eventually if I get into any kind of long-term relationship I'll have to face this so I'll be watching your comments and if you would let me know advise that you find beneficial that I might miss. Everyone is right I'm sure that this man loves you for who you are with or without teeth he sounds terrific. But we're women and we're programmed by Society to be so self-conscious of our image our looks and this is just a real mind-fuck excuse my language. Sweet Pea have a few drinks and loosen up a little bit and then maybe you can show him easier. This is definitely a hard road to go isn't it but it is worth it and we will make it through! As far as your sinuses and the nerves in your face I understand that too I've never had any sinus problems until I had gotten my denture and now I find myself having sinus issues daily strange but true. You need time for yourself, time will heal your angst, but sometimes personal time is not okay with partners. If he can hang, great, but you should tell him, this is no small thing and you need lots of time and space. Tell him your fears of not being accepted, couldn't hurt.

Your boyfriend has seen you with your real teeth before you got your extractions. He knows how badly they looked and how much pain they caused you. Now, let him see you as you are today and I'm pretty sure it's not going to bother him at all. If it does bother him...move on.
