The Denver Broncos OTA's were open to the media today and if you aren't excited about this team you better check your pulse! Marvin Mims looks beyond ready to make a crazy difference at the receiver spot and while the news about Greg Dulcich injury is concerning, it's overshadowed by the hype around Lucas Krull! Sean Payton had the best quote of the day when he said "people will know who 85 is." What are your takes on Bo Nix running with the 1's today? Love your YT channel Ben. I have been a Broncos fan since 1981 from here in NW England. I remember listening to radio broadcasts way back then on radio ARFTS the armed forces radio broadcasted into Europe for the troops. Karl Mecklenberg was my favourite player before John Elway came along. Hope to get to a game in Denver next year. Interesting broadcast Ben…thanks.

Well my friend, I hope you're right. I think we're building a good foundation for sure but our schedule looks pretty darn tough. I've been drinking the orange Kool-aid all my life and when I saw the schedule my first reaction was 5-12. I appreciate the analysis on Lucas Krull. He wasn't even on my radar. Now I'll be watching out for 85.

Lucas krull gotta make an impact, he can be our gronkowski. Play tough, catch footballs and have great blocking skills. Get stronger and gain more experience. Hope you can achieve elite status. Get your name known and ball out for the real games. Know the route tree like the back of your hand, So if they call a play you know where to go and not have to ask where and when do I go. Let's go broncos!!! Let's make improvements and get wins!!

Mims is going to be a stud. A star. Last season, I was hoping that he would break out. But for whatever reason Denver only rarely got him into he game. Was this on Russ? Maybe. This season, he should be the starting slot receiver.

SP doesn't taylor who does what for media days. Media is at the very bottom of his priorities. Last year same as this year. QBs take turns with 1s, 2s, and 3s. All is equal at this time of year.

I definitely see how it seems contradictory-yesterday I was refreshed by a lack of self created hype videos being put out by individual players or teams ie Russel Wilson’s film crew putting out slow mo throws, New York Jets putting out 40 yard Aaron Rodgers no look throws. These videos today were put out by credentialed media, not by Broncos players. But I definitely could have explained it better. Thanks for the feedback and watching!

Ben...Payton specifically said that OTA reps do not indicate anything about who is in the lead to start. In point of fact, what coach would even consider doing that 3 days into practice drills & 3 months before the first preseason games? Certainly not Sean Payton. Come on...give all 3 of these guys some credit. This time a year ago Sean praised Stidham profusely, making a point of talking about his ability to read defenses & process quickly. He saw something in him or would not have signed him first thing he got here. That is exactly how he went & got Brees too. Stiham's been in the room now for FOUR YEARS with Brady, Belichick, McDaniels, Payton, & all 4 QBs he has sat behind have been pro bowlers with 3 being Super Bowl QBs. Is that really worth nothing? Is it of so little value that we believe the rookie has the job sewed up after seeing Stidham perform in only 2 meaningless games at the end of the year? If you go back & watch the first game of his career when he was with the Raiders, he torched the best defense in the NFL for 34 points, racked up 365 yards & 3 TDs wile posting a QB Rating of 108. He was the first QB in NFL history to throw for 350 & 3 scores in his first game. Why is this so easily shoved aside for the shiny new toy we now have? Yes Payton likes Nix...but he also likes the other two. Sean is hedging his bets here. He's got three candidates, all of them with different forms of pedigree. I can say similar things about Payton's view of Zach Wilson. He has more game experience than Jarret does. Sean saw something in him too. He was drafted higher than Nix was. He has an arm that is superior to either Nix or Stidham, in the same league with Mahomes & Allen. I realize that Brees didn't have that but let's not pretend Sean would not care about arm talent like that. He wanted Mahomes...right??? Yes Zach Wilson had some major struggles in New York. What QB has NOT struggled when playing with the Jets? The last one I recall was Joe Namath...& yes I saw him play. His OC was Nathaniel Hackett last year...enough said. Would we have really expected him to play well for him? Why? What if we have not really seen the best of this guy? What if he...like Drew Brees...is only about to come of age NOW? Do you realize that Brees was as bad as Wilson for his first 30 starts in the NFL? It's true, look up his game stats. In fact, his numbers are a very close match for Zach's. They might even be worse. Even AFTER he had one good season, he regressed again in 2005, the last year he had before Sean signed him. Why do we not recognize that Payton makes a difference? If he did with Brees, Winston, & even a guy like Taysom Hill...who's to say that he doesn't also make a difference for somebody like Zach Wilson? We'll find out down the line who the starter is. Don't put all your eggs in one basket. In the vast majority of cases, it is NOT good to start a rookie QB. Run down the list of guys who were drafted high in the first round that people were raving about...how many rookie starters have come out their first year & done what CJ Stroud or Ben Roethlisberger did? Very few. Sean will make whoever the starter is EARN the job.
