I will tell you this, Bo Nix came to Oregon at a time when we are pretty down about QB play and development, even going back to Justin Herbert. Of course, we got Dan Lanning and new coordinator, but what Bo NIx did to transform Oregon's offense back into the elite brand that it was with Chip Kelly was phenomenal. Bo Nix had so much to do with it from a team building standpoint. Everyone on the team looked up to him, he was gracious and embracing of the community, and he played his heart out. He didn't skip the bowl game. He didn't quit on his team. Two years of stellar play and leadership. You have every reason to be excited. Also, Troy is a competitor and good dude too. Pray they stay healthy. I will be watching the Broncos a lot more this season.

I’ve seen too many silly articles criticizing the Nix pick. I get trying to maximize value in the draft but I think that doesn’t apply to QBs when your team doesn’t have one. If it’s at all credible, you just go for it, and Nix fits that totally. Might not work, but it’s as good of a 1st round pick as any for a team in Denver’s position.

I agree with you....last I checked Bo had much better stats against the same teams as Caleb W(a generational talent) last year....so why is Bo all of a sudden a completly dud pick yet the Bears "Murdered" the draft by getting Williams??? Not saying that Williams will bust out and Bo will be the second coming of Elway/Manning, but the hate against Bo is mental compared to the other 5 first round QBs.

@@ROMBomb001 exactly, that’s a ridiculous insinuation. Fact is, no one really knows if Nix is better than Russ. And yeah, odds are he probably isn’t. But current year Russell Wilson was not likely to win anyone a Super Bowl and it’s absolutely worth taking a shot on someone who is a decade younger. More than that too, it really doesn’t make any sense to lump the two decisions together. After year one, it was clear that acquiring and paying Russ was a mistake, divesting themselves as soon as possible was the right move. Drafting Nix and him as a player really has nothing to do with any of that.

I've been a Bronco fan for over 50 years. I have been a loyal fan through the good times and bad times. Believe me, there have been plenty of both. John Elway will always be my favorite Bronco but this is the first time since Elway that I am feeling really excited and actually have some serious expectations. I'm not talking about expectations for a dynasty but expectations of having a really good quarterback leading the team. An intelligent QB with enough physical talent is perfect for the current system and we may be seeing the next true "Bronco" QB.

One final note: I think Drew Lock got screwed for no reason other than he did not get a 2-3 year shot at with the starting job. He's a gun slinger QB and Denver needed to learn to adjust to him, just as they are about to adjust to Bo Nix. Really hoping the Sean Payton's mature leadership abilities will make the difference. Whatever Denver does, please keep George Paton AWAY from Nix.

BTW, it was surprising to hear that Bo Nix played in 5 different offenses in 5 years. That's usually the sign of a bad numbers, instead, Bo Nix has some good looking overall numbers. Numbers are just numbers......... when they're good. Although numbers are taken much more seriously when they're bad. Bo Nix has done everything he's been asked to do and he's been successful as well.

When developing a drafted QB, it's all about coach and QB matches. It's easier to coach good habits than bad habits, and it's easy to misguide a young QB with a bad coaching staff. Most of the time, they never get rid of the bad habits, from bad coaches.

According to coach Payton (from his day 1 press conference), citing a conference call he had with the coaches of LV and MIN, the Raiders wanted Pennix while Viking wanted McCarthy and he wanted Nix. When ATL surprised everyone and took Pennix he began to worry for a while if Nix would fall to pick 12 or if someone would make a move to get him... So it was probably his best choice not to try and trade back at that point.

Bo Nix is amazing player but Broncos are not winning more than 5-6 games next season, no matter the who the QB is. Its a rough schedule. KC twice, Chargers Twice just to start. 3 years from now, though!! beef up that Defense. Also those throws to the sides are still 10-15 yards out.
