I think the bench will be better simply because it is better constructed this season. Last year, it was a slew of guards, no forwards, and a pair of poor big men. Peyton Watson really ought to be playing more guard than forward, and probably will now that they have some size on the wing. I'm hoping Cancar will break out a little bit this year and contribute, and agree Saric should be a nice addition. Westbrook will need to win me over, but is probably an upgrade over Jackson. So yeah, better balance across the bench should help.

People, if you do the math Russ is still a really good player, 11 points off the bench in only 20 minutes, that’s about 2 pts ever 2 minutes, if we add about 10 more minutes he would score about 17 points a game! He is still good, we just treat him as washed

Scary good is click-bait. It has massive potential though. Our biggest weakness: slow getting into our sets. Jamal is literally the slowest PG in the nba getting across half court the last 5 seasons. When we get in our sets faster, Joker can read and react more. We also were bottom 5 in transition offense. Every bucket we get is hard won/orchestrated by Joker. Our other massive weakness has been a lack of identity for the bench. If Russ takes 2 less bad shots a game due to Nugget culture, we are gonna look great, it’s a big “if” though. Saric as a backup big can help, although I would have preferred someone that rebounds and defends the rim better. Pwat might be able to even out the defensive problems with Saric though

Westbrook is the best 6th man that Denver has had in years. Saric is a solid bench player. These guys will help. Watson, Strawther, and Braun have another offseason to work on their games. They have a lot of young guys who could level up this year. If Braun can develop a reliable jumper over the offseason (possible) and Murray, Porter, and Gordon can arrive healthy and rested and be healthy in the playoffs (unlikely, but it happened two years ago when they won a title), the Nugs could be back in title contention. That's a lot of ifs and some are unlikely but possible. Something is going on with Murray. He fell off a cliff in the playoffs and was awful in the olympics. He needs to spend every minute of every day until the playoffs start resting and chillin with a sports psychologist.

Westbrook doesn’t need to learn to play off ball just let him come off the bench and go ham. He’s gonna run other teams bench’s out of the gym when they play at home with the altitude.

Russ cutting with Murray and Porter sitting outside and Gordon in the corner with the Joker playing point. I see the Nugs finishing top 3 in the West. Tough to cover Joker with those options. Difficult cover for the league. They aren't the favorites but they aren't far off either.

I agree which is why Coach Malone should start him and move Murray to the 2. Another aspect where Russ can help is pushing the pace so Denver gets into its actions much quicker. He can either attack a weak defense that hasn't gotten back or get into the half court quicker than Murray usually does and get the ball to either Jokic or Murray. He did this with The Clippers a lot. I truly believe had The Clippers kept him at pg and used Harden as the 2 guard, they would have been even better. Let's see what happens

They also have the easiest schedule in NBA when taking into account SOS, rest luck, b2b games SOS for 2nd game, zero road trips of more then 5 games. It was def not a scary good offseason. Solid def possible, but def not scary good when most would agree KCP back def helps them bc of spacing/3s/defense (not taking into account salary just on the court for next year). I do give them as good of odds personally though of anyone to win title

They need to give Christian Braun the green light now. Not a rookie anymore. The team would benefit if he was more assertive and confident taking the dhots the D gives him beyond layups and dunks.

doesn't matter who we have coming off the bench as long as Malone is there to not play them in the regular season and tire out his starters in the playoffs.

denver draft pick got achilies injury in his first summer legue game, he is out for a year there is till the MPJ problem, who's salary is plagueing denver nuggets salary. he costs 3x as aron gordon, or 7x as westbrook. saric is a nic addition, but he is a defensive liablity. aslo, why did we give him double the salary that GS gave him? he was signed for 4 mill in GS, he is signed for 11 mill in Denver. westbrook is a big addition to nuggets, who are lacking in gritt and street ball mentality which westbrook can give on the floor. also, he can cary the ball, which gives space to Jokic

Russ played great off-ball offense with the Clippers, being a set screener at times and cutter. Nuggets can exploit that even better with Jokic at center court

This is a very BAD summer for the Nuggets. Saric is an 11th player on the rotation of a contender AT BEST at this point of his career. Rus is problem! He can’t score out of the paint, and they need another 7 footer as a rim protector to play when Joker is resting since Holmes is injured This doesn’t look good for the Nuggets

Not mentioning Hunter Tyson in this video is criminal! Had Malone played him during the season, he could have been an option when MPH was throwing up bricks in the playoffs. Basically, the coach didn’t play his bench last season, even though they could play! Malone is an awful coach which means that Jokic has to play at a ridiculously all-time high level for Denver to win.

yeah I wanted to just talk about the guys they currently have under contract or had under contract this past season, but there’s plenty of free agents still out there, such as Kennard, that would fit in Mike Malone’s system very well

He been hooping in summer league, was hooping last yr in summer league , & was even decent in his minimal role before he got injured last yr . I think he’ll be fine tbh

Strawther was quite good before his MCL injury last year even without his shot falling, buy stock while you can cuz he's gonna be real damn good

If Nuggets can pry Luke Kennard from the Grizzlies, then he would be a pretty good add on a veteran minimum deal. He would be an insurance at the shooting guard spot for Julian Strawther and play that Justin Holiday role on the team.

I was asking myself the same thing. Perhaps the bench is somewhat better, but KCP gone is the end of the best starting five in the NBA.

I am a Serb and I want Jokic to win more, but the moves Denver's front office is doing or even better, not doing is abysmal. They act like they gona have a championship talent for ever. No, your title window is 5-6 years, that's it. You can't play around. Jokic is 29. Just SMH.
