@@shawnerickstad6974 Obviously there is not a huge talent gap. People are predisposed to certain capacities, but things like this are made. They are built and developed, not express. It is not unbelievable, UNLV is a D1 program. This is not Canada or Northern and Eastern Europe or Eurasia and Title lX is a thing so....yes.

@@trevormoore2745 No it helps win a game. Winning cultures are built through, SUBSTANITIVE practices, stern commitment to the fundamentals, community, meditation, rest, and love for the ice, and love for your stick. That is where a winning culture comes from. A winning culture means there is no depth chart, if we are at our most honest. A winning culture means that the practice players know and feel as important as starters. For the millionth time, UNLV is a D1 program. Do you mean an NCAA team?

@@Drinnger57 thats just not true. The best D1 ACHA club teams could compete and beat good d3 teams, but by no means would most d1 ACHA teams beat most NCAA d3 teams. The UNLV captain played d3 at Utica and the teams leading point scorer (tied w. the d1 transfer Brodziak from LIU) played d3 at St. Scholastica. Good club teams might have a few d1 or d3 transfers and some kids who played high level jr hockey (NAHL, BCHL, AJHL, NCDC, etc.), but they dont have the same depth on their 3rd and 4th lines. Nearly every player on a D3 roster played high level jr hockey, high level AAA or went to prep school, not just their top 6-7 players.

@@Drinnger57 I played at a D3 NCAA school in the NESCAC for 2 years and ended up transferring and playing club hockey at an ACHA D1 club school for the next 2 years, and theres no doubt that D3 NCAA level of play was higher. I'm not saying theres not plenty of ACHA D1 club players who could have played NCAA D3 if they wanted to, but with the exception of a few top-end ACHA schools, the level of play in NCAA D3 is simply better. Some of the best ACHA D1 club teams like Adrian college and Oswego st also have D3 NCAA teams and the NCAA teams would win.

Former UNLV Hockey alumni (played with the current coaching staff) .. this program is growing fast and continues to progress year over year. People talk down on the ACHA, but the D1 league does have competitive teams (there's just a large drop-off between programs) and that's why more of the top clubs are doing these cross-over exhibition games, the NCAA programs get to see what a lot of their guys with less ice-time can do, and the ACHA program gets exposure + a measuring stick to see how far they are from making the jump. The main difference will be the roster depth, NCAA will roll 4 good lines, whereas an ACHA program will roll 2.
