The way that he told stories in this interview is similar to how he tells them on-stage and as such, they were a little funny and very entertaining. I think that I remember him using the bit about the secretary and the IT guy in one of his stand ups. I love that kinda comedy and I think it’s a trait of a naturally skilled comic. They don’t need cartoonish antics. They can just talk to the audience like two friends talking over cold beer at a bar and their story, their expressions, their tone, and everything seems so organic and ordinary but also hilarious.

@bowlofrice10068 жыл бұрын
The notion that there's white comedy and black comedy to me seems sad. Because everyone laughs at situational things, it's not a racial thing. It only becomes racial when you laugh at experiences only had by a specific group but if another person from another group had those experiences & the audience related to them, they'd laugh at them too. Either way, I used to watch Deon Coles show when it was on. I didn't agree with everything he said but his perspective was interesting enough to listen to. Good Guy.
@Dretube5238 жыл бұрын
It's not so much the content but the delivery. black comics sound like there just shootin the shit. White comics sound like their reading cue cards. Bill burr is the only white comic who doesn't do that.

I think you're talking bullshit. There are many different cultures in the world. From china, to Africa, to the united states. What you notice is that with each culture, humor & experiences is different. It's the same with comedy, black american comedy will be different to white american comedy. Even asian american comedy such as chinese american or korean american comedy has a different feel. Ex. A Korean american comic is more likely to talk about parents who feel their kids to must become doctors. And other expectations that aren't popular among white or black audience. So there is definitely comedy based on culture shared by different demographics. White and black comedy is real and there is nothing racist or bad about it. Acknowledging and celebrating what makes us different is the most anti-racist thing you can do.
