#DeonHoward He was sick when he did this and VERY ANGRY that they used the auto tune in him! You should react to the video of them doing this. He was musically trained as a Cantor. He has amazing range and my respect.... Think about today's society more technologically connected but never really talking to each other face to face.... They worship false God's more and more thru technology.... If that makes sense.. The original was Simon and Garfunkel in 1963, written by Paul Simon after a dream he had and it's more fitting today than it was then. Something to think about....

It doesn't matter how many times I hear this, I'm left in awe of the power in David Draiman's voice and presence. If you aren't familiar with Disturbed, you need to listen to some of their other music to really understand exactly how far from their "normal" this is! I'm a huge Disturbed fan and wouldn't listen to this until recently, because I've heard the original and just knew this version would suck! I was so wrong! Every time I hear this, I'm stunned, too. The song was written in 1964 - over 50 years ago - and Simon & Garfunkel's performance perfectly reflected the feelings of the time. Now Disturbed has come along with a performance of the same music, but updated for today, and his performance also perfectly reflects the feelings of our time. An amazing song & two amazing groups, 50 years apart.
@rell.bombtv5 жыл бұрын

@@rell.bombtv This was written during the short time when President Kennedy was killed, the attacks on Civil Rights demonstrators during the last gasps of legal segregation, the ramp up with the Vietnam War, Martin Luther King's "I Have a Dream" speech and his assassination, the Partial Nuclear Test Ban Treaty, the rebirth of the Women's Rights Movement ... it was a time of hope and fear and the most unlikely people coming together to fix the world. Music was such an important part of the sixties, and Paul Simon was just 21 when he wrote this song. Part of his genius is that he could turn what he saw in the world into this music, even as young as he was.

The good thing about live is he hits the pitches perfectly, for live it is just stellar, compared to the album where they can fix every angle of it to make it seem perfect, where as this is just vocal depth showing what he can do live, that is why people like the live version, they can see him singing this song amazingly and feel it as he sings it, the album version is great don't get me wrong, but live I just feel it a lot more maybe that is just me but I can feel it deeply seeing what he can do and if he can hit the pitches higher or the same as the album, I just feel he does better live with any song he does because you get to see how well he hits his pitches without many added effects like they do with albums.
@GRIMRPR69425 жыл бұрын
@@TheGoalie473 Actually, the pitches werent perfect, but pretty close because the sound crew had him use an auto-tune mic for the live performance. David Draiman made mention of it in a later radio interview because the host of the show made a comment about how he seemed to hear it at certain points in the performance. Theres also a vocal/singing coach here on YT that listened to both versions and mentioned the same thing, people who have a trained ear can hear the difference.

In my opinion "People talking without speaking" = means people nowadays like to talk nonsense instead of speaking something good and useful. Sometimes they like to talk without using their brain. Speaking is after you think and analysed. It is two same action but deeply has different meaning "People hearing without listening" = they hear the story, news etc just by the surface. They never bury the message in their head. Unlike listening, which we are more focus to take the important point from the story, news etc. These two lines from the song are my favorite. Really deep message from Simon towards people all over the world.

His name is David Draiman. He was classically trained as a cantor before he joined Disturbed. I love his voice. He goes from chest voice to head voice then adds distortion to his voice like it is nothing. He has an amazing voice and range. I have always liked this song, even though it came out 20 years before I was born and I usually don't like covers but I love the depth and feeling they brought to this song.

and there u have it! this is how a reaction video is done! ur facial expressions, while listening, spoke volumes in the emotions u were feeling. u didnt have to say one single word! I cant stand when ppl talk over the song or pause it to say something. it ruins the flow of the emotional journey of listening and watching the expressions on the person who's doing the video. this was wonderful! ty I sub'd cuz of it!

The hype is his voice and the beautiful rendition of an old classic folk song, done by a heavy metal band, which is AMAZINGLY done and performed!

Welcome to world of rock! Disturbed normally sings harder music so I think you’ll be surprised by their other music. David’s voice is like no other. He was classically trained and his range pierces my Soul. Love your smile!! Great reaction too 🤘🏻🤘🏻💓

Actually he was not "classically trained", he trained as a Cantor.

Darlene Smith I appreciate the correction. As a Catholic, a cantor is classically trained to a degree. Not like opera. I have to assume the Jewish faith is similar.
